Thank you for sharing your info on this board.

This is what I have. It is syncing with my iDisk so I can go to sleep.

DG35EC

2.0 ghz CPU

4GB RAM

Nvidia 8600GTS

2- 500GB SATA Drives

1-SATA DVD-RW

I used to have it running iAtkos in 10.5. Bought SL and it was an easy upgrade except for the BIOS upgrade. The flash.exe program would fail. I was changing the bios to any and all and it would fail. I finally used the a different flash program in 0116 and that one work. I wasted a day, finally I tried it and it work. The 0117 flash was CLI but the one from 0116 was GUI. I don't have windows running at all since 1997. I have a G5 but the hack may soon replace it.

Ciao,

Lou Cioccio

Hi slipttest,

Thanks for your reply.

HPET was not on. So i enabled that ans again tried to boot from DVD.

Now boot seems ok but my PS/2 mouse and keyboard are not working so not able to install.

Do you have any kext available for that?

Thanks and Regards,

Cdboot updated PS2 Support and Others Fix

thx

Thanks for update.

Now i am able to get in SL.

Done EFI stuff, but not able to get graphics.

I am only able to get 1024x768 resolution, that we get during setup.

I have made setup on my USB External Drive.

I have also applied EFI string for my graphics card.

Also hang up during boot. Need 3-4 boot to get in SL.

Here is my config.

C2D 2.33 GHz

DG35EC

XFX Geforse 8600 GT 256 MB Graphics Card

4 GB RAM

USB Keyboard and Mouse.

Please help me on this.

Is it require to add Injector driver for my Graphics?

Regards,

Manish Patel

I have also tried with that.

Here problem is there with your boot.plist.

Need to add EFI string to device-properties not to Graphics Mode.

Updated that but only getting resolution by specifying it to Graphics Mode.

Not able to get QE support.

How to make Extensions.mkext?

That file is not available at /System/Library/.

Thanks again for your great work on this guide. I used it to bring my system up in SL (now 10.6.1) and it's been rock-solid for a month now.

The only issue I never solved is I can't see an IDE Soft RAID that I had working in Leopard. DiskUtility doesn't seem to pick up any IDE drives at all... do I need to install a patched JMicron kext?

Thanks again,

Fish

Ah... I figured it out. I have no idea why but the Multiplexing feature in y BIOS was Disabled. I changed it and voila! 2 cores.

Thanks everyone... especially Sliptees! I love this SL Hackintosh! :D

This is driving me nuts! :P

Cannot boot into the Snow Leopard install disc for some reason.

I have downloaded the bootloader disc from the title post, but no luck..

Heres what happens:

When the bootloader prompt appears i insert the Snow Leopard install disc and then press f5, the disc appears all fine.. I load with -v, it stalls and here is what i get:

dsc0154s.th.jpg

I have tried everything.. followed the bios instructions from the previous leopard install, burnt new discs, changed video cards, you name it.. i still cant get past this screen? what am i doing wrong?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

This particular DG35EC Snow Leopard install works very well, however, it boots into 64 bit mode. Many audio device and wireless drivers are not 64 bit compatible. Booting with the arch=i386 command causes kernel panics. Has anyone gotten their DG35EC Snow Leopard install to successfully boot into 32 bit mode? If so, what did you do to accomplish it?

I have the same problem. Ive tried 3 video cards, took out my wifi card, Sata 0 HDD and sata 1 DVD, changed BIOS to AHCI, Speed, XD,VT and all other specs. Same problem with IOFamily Panic. Di you solve this issue.

Ive install about 10 Leopards before with 0 problems on this board.

Let me know if you solve this problem. Thanks.

Slipttees: I have the same problem as osx86intel.mac.

I have installed about 10 or more Leopards in different machines and about 4 in the DG35EC (10.5.2 to 10.5.7). I have also tried the Snow Install from a Leopard with the same problem of panic with the same message of AppleAHCIPort error.

Changed video cards (3), replaced RAM, all BIOS settings are per instructions, you name it. Still same panic. Can u tell me what revision version u have in your board?

Any help will be welcomed.

Regards.

hi all

some people were trying to "Kernel Panic" with Snow Leopard in 64bit, so I redid the cdboot DG35EC mobo for running on 64bit, with all drivers, sound, network, firewire, ahci, usb. For those who have no video card, exist TheStevo Intel GMA X350, this work on x32.

will be updating the main post!

hope that helps

Hi I have installed Snow Leopard with this guide with no problems at all.

Now 10.6.2 updated with no problems.

Easy steps very simple.

My spec are:

Intel DG35EC

Intel core 2 duo 3GHz

4 GB Ram DDR2 800

Nvidia 9500 GT 512 Mb

Firewire OK

You just have to install the kexts for the LAN (intel 82566mm), audio azalia, and thats all. ENJOY

first post updated !

Thanx for this guide and keeping it up to date!

i have already installed from usb and have my bootloader setup to use EFI partition.

Now I am using your boot file, dsdt, boot.plist, smbios.plist, the kexts from your new cdboot.

when i try to use arch=x86_64 it: cant load appleRTC, then it loads fakesmc, freezes for a sec, loads firewire, freeze.

with arch=i386 it boots but no ethernet (cant load Intel82566MM.kext by hand and kextutil says its because they dont have i386 support)

my real aim now is arch=x86_64 =]

My system:

Intel DG35EC

intel Q9400

8GB corsair ram

1.5TB seagate (sata0)

dvd-rw (sata1)

Nvidia 275 GTX

first post updated !

Slipttees,

Again thanks. I have DG35EC board, E4400, 4 GB RAM, 2- 500GB SATA drives, SATA DVD-RW , Firewire/USB PCI-x and a Nvidia 8600 card all working fine. All the ports work and I was able to tune a Guitar with Garage band.

I do have one unusual problem that I cannot figure out and am clueless. The on board Firewire and PCI-x Firewire card will work on a ADS Compact Flash card reader and I can use my Hollywood Dazzle Firewire/USB to the computer and it will recognize a VCR or Camera (this also works on USB). I can see both the card reader or Dazzle in Apple System Profiler (ASP). Now what does not work but I can see in ASP is my Digital Camera Olympus E1 or E500. But Image Capture and Olympus Studio will not recognize; I verified that the cables and camera will work on a MacPro computer. The other thing is that the Olympus Program seems to work but the menu is truncated that File from the Olympus Studio, Edit, View, Tools, Camera, and Help but is missing but it is in Olympus Studio as the pull down. To close quit the program you just hit the "red ball" and the program closes like a Window OS app. Any suggestion or advice what to look for? To me it is software driver related but it baffles me that other hardware will work. I am not asking you to solve but rather where I should look. Otherwise everything works perfectly and was very easy to follow your tutorial.

Ciao,

Lou Cioccio
