Robert Baileys
I've got os x86 ver 10.4.4 on my pc, yet I only have one HD, so I can't boot windows. Since Boot Camp is here, I was wondering if I could run it under the x86 architecture. (that would be the best dualboot ever) Any tries? Zappadoc
can i install a Coffee (Expresso if possible) maker on new classy OS-X86 installation???? :histerical: why you cannot boot Windows on your HD? just use Acronis or other to resize your OSX partition and make a dual boot OSX/XP? declan
Well as stated you can dual boot a million ways anyway, without boot camp, but it would be a nice way to dual boot. It makes me laugh, i am glad to be rid of windows, dual boot, i need a wash. Its a bad as the idea of installing windows on a real mac. Err. I think most just want xp for games. Me i have my Xbox and X360 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14091-can-i-install-bootcamp-on-x86/#findComment-89703 Share on other sites

mortis
Acronis? How is it? I only have one HD. no problem man! you can partition your hard-disk ant install both OS in it. then use a boot-manager such as acronis (there are others also) and select your OS when you power up your machineç just search the forums ,the wiki, and google! EgoDeath
You can use acronis to create a seperate partition on the same hdd. However.. I'm not sure if there is an intel mac app that can do a non-destructive partition resize yet (you can via the terminal though - but i hear its risky) I gave osx the whole of my hdd, so im going to need this to sort my partition for me (thanks apple!) Edit: bah, beat me to it lol Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/14091-can-i-install-bootcamp-on-x86/#findComment-89826 Share on other sites

KanadaKid
If you're on anything but 10.4.6 boot camp tells you to update. If you're on 10.4.6 it tells you to update your firmware. So it's pretty much useless on a standard x86 machine.
