RiceTea
Aperture checks for the presence of certain hardware (namely graphic cards) and refuses to run a number of real Macs too. A Universal Binary release (Aperture 1.1) is due this month. Perhaps you have more luck when being updated. grentz
Aperature is only for PPC (power pc) macs right now, the 1.1 will make it able to run on Intel Based Macs Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13887-is-aperture-runnable/#findComment-88306 Share on other sites

KanadaKid
There's an Adobe program that is similar, Project: Lightroom. It's currently in beta, a universal binary, and a free download. http://labs.macromedia.com/technologies/lightroom/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13887-is-aperture-runnable/#findComment-89156 Share on other sites
BadMonkey
I had Aperture 1.1 running when I flat-lined my 10.4.6 install and everything was perfect then I don't recall what I did, I think I tried installing FCP 5.1 and now I think it hosed my Aperture 1.1 install. I open the Contents of Aperture 1.1, Contents, MacOS and try running the app from command line it states the ProKit.framework is recognozed but wrong architecture... But I know it's the Intel version of the ProKit.framework I downloaded the Prokit.framework.zip from TPB. Am I missing something here? Guest goodtime
I believe Aperture requires Core Image. Aperture 1.1 runs on my GMA 900 Intel Mac and has Core Image. It does not run on my G4 which does NOT have Core Image. Steps to Install 1.1 Upgrade without 1.0: Go to: Demonoid Download Aperture 1.1 (look for Aperture [k]er w/ Aperture 1.1Update) Download Pacifist. Install Aperture 1.1Update pkg using Pacifist. After successful install, Drag Aperture.app onto Aperture [k]er AppleScript. Launch Aperture 1.1, if all went well you will be prompted to enter your Aperture License / SN. Good Luck! This has been tested on an Intel GMA 900 Desktop with 1 GB RAM.
