NickRiley
Earlier i was thinking that this is a normal thing, until i actually found out that everyone's systems are booting with normal boot screen, unless you'll type -v at boot promt.. but, i'm starting my system without any parameter and it starts in verbose mode, showing me that annoying black/white screen. Any ideas? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/135767-system-starting-in-verbose-mode-by-default/ Share on other sites
rhyguy
look in /library/preferences/systemconfiguration for com.apple.boot.plist for boot flags, if it says -v, remove it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/135767-system-starting-in-verbose-mode-by-default/#findComment-961906 Share on other sites
NickRiley
look in /library/preferences/systemconfiguration for com.apple.boot.plist for boot flags, if it says -v, remove it Thanks a lot for a fast reply.. there is such a flag.. but: 1. There's another flag -legacy - what does it mean and should i remove it? 2. Tell me please how to edit the file? It says i don't have enough privileges Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/135767-system-starting-in-verbose-mode-by-default/#findComment-961909 Share on other sites
nintendoguy
open this aplication and click the boot.plist editor. then make your changes, can not tell you about -legacy. you can try and delete it and see if your computer will boot. if not, at the prompt where you enter the flags, enter -legacy and it should boot EFIStudio.zip Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/135767-system-starting-in-verbose-mode-by-default/#findComment-961913 Share on other sites

It looks like -legacy flag will remove the promt (those 5 seconds) from the bootloader.. MacNutty
Thanks a lot, it helped! It looks like -legacy flag will remove the promt (those 5 seconds) from the bootloader.. Legacy flag is for booting the system in strictly 32 bit mode. Remove it if you have a 64 bit processor, it will enable your system to work in 64 bit. NickRiley
ooo.. thanks.. i should try that... but. it's still odd, when i removed for the first time it loaded the system without the timer.. One more question.. how can i find out if the system is running in 32 bit mode or 64?
