bpeugh
I was wondering if anyone has been able to get any of the elgato products to work with any of the builds on a non-apple. Thanks. declan
I would like to know that two, as thats one thing missing from my macintel, TV, though i am using wintv pvr 150 on my mce box, and the windows usb version works on the mac, same as the mac one, except black, but eyetv looks cool, better than hauppauge software. Would be nice to know it works before spending more cash. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13508-elgato-eyetv/#findComment-85952 Share on other sites
maxx2097
EyeTV worked out of the box for me with a Cinergy T2 (USB, DVB-T). I was realy impressed by this software remebering what pain in the a** it was getting this to work with windows. No drivers to install, you just start it and the channel scan starts. Additionally the interface and the EPG look and feel very good. Its definitly a program worth using and buying. Omega01
Funny - just wrote it in another threat: EyeTV 2.1 (unibin) is working fine here. I use it in combination with the Yakumo DVB-T USB-Stick (ca. 50 Euro at amazon for example). They even offer it as a bundle with EyeTV: http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file=produ...vdtt&newlang=en Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13508-elgato-eyetv/#findComment-86281 Share on other sites

bpeugh
I was hoping what Elgato calls the EyeTV EZ which is what you call Cinergy T2 would work and I am glad it does. Buy.com has it at $130.99 with the taking of another $25 off with the credit card from them. I think I am going to have to get it. maxx2097
Well... the EZ is slightly different since it is for analog TV (terestrial and cable) and the T2 is for DVB-T (or DTT, like its called on the elgato site). But the boxes look quite similar. But I see no reason why the EZ should not work, as long as your USB works. MacSimizeDenver
I have the Cinergy T2, too. Under 10.4.x on an iMac G5 it works well with my Eye TV 2.0.1, but something is totally wrong under JaS 10.4.6 on my X86-Mac. If I install this software on the Intel-machine the setup doesn't start up automaticly, I have to start it right out of Eye TV and during setup it doesn't continue at the point where you have to connect the Cinergy T2 with your Mac. The "Next" button is grayed out. I can't finish setup. Is somebody here who can help me with this? I can't write an e-mail to the Elgato support 'cause...you know. ***UPDATE*** It works well now, but I had to do a re-install of Tiger. Due this i had to un-check the 10.4.4/5/6 USB-Kexts in the installer menu. There are the problem for EyeTV. After that everything works well.... ***UPDATE*** Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13508-elgato-eyetv/#findComment-149020 Share on other sites

bornagainpenguin
Since we seem to be kicking up this old thread again (and I don't have to feel like a necrophiliac because I wasn't the one kicking) can I ask all of those who've gotten their TV cards to work whether or not Closed Captioning worked on any of them? This is somewhat of a major feature for me--so much so that it and dealing with my VOIP Skype phone are what keeps me in Windows on my main box. --bornagainpenguin Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13508-elgato-eyetv/#findComment-170316 Share on other sites

biosphere
EyeTV 500 works fine for me. I cannot get 5.1 dolby digital surround sound out. Regular analog Prologic surround sound works via optical out but I do miss the clarity of dolby digital 5.1. I bought an M-Audio Transit and loaded the Universal Binary drivers. Still no dolby digital from elgato or dvd player :-( Has anyone tried the EyeTV 500 ?http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file=products_eyetv500 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13508-elgato-eyetv/#findComment-170708 Share on other sites
thrawneekaar
Ommega01, can you tell my wich Yakumo DVB-T USB-stick you are using and how you told eyetv to use that stick ? Regard, Peter Hi Peter, I think we are both unlucky. I wanted to buy one, but seems that new revisions are no longer EyeTV compatible (actually, they were recognized by the software as Miglia TVmini usb stick ... however, this doesn't happed with the new versions of the Yakumo sticks:((( read this if you know a bit of German: yakumo no longer works with EyeTV T. zedzed
I am the proud owner of an Elgato EyeTV 500. IT WORKS on my 10.4.7 system. I am watching TV now. This gizmo ONLY works on ATSC (Over the Air) or Unencrypted Clear QAM on cable It does not do analog Plugs into Firewire and comes with EyeTV software More info at http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file=products_eyetv500 Note - this is a discontinued unit. Supposedly it was too expensive to make and not enough customers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/13508-elgato-eyetv/#findComment-220472 Share on other sites
