I have a feeling that Apple has become a power hungry villian, like Sylar from Heroes. But the only thing it fears is the government coming down on them for being too monopoly like, which is why i think they backed out of the Psystar vs. Apple case. And the Pystar case is merely being settled out of court... I'm guessing likely because Apple wants to keep any negative publicity (which would be generated whether or not they won) from becoming widespread, as well as prevent any ultimatums being set for future cases.
