Hi,

after having read a few posts about fixing USB in 10.4.4/5 I've come to the point that I need the kext from 10.4.3. Problem is, I don't have the 10.4.3 DVD. So, if anyone got this kext or knows a link where I could get it, please answer on this post.

Cheers

This should be in the faq cause it gets asked so much, peep the pirate bay, perhaps they have a 10.4.3 extensions zip?

you sure the 10.4.3 kext will work , ive tried and had now luck. :)

here it is if you want to try. [link removed]

Thanks man. I'm not sure it will work, but I'll give it a whirl! Thanks! :)

EDIT:

Well, it didn't work me either. {censored} :)

Hallo my friends!

I used pacifist to extract the package from the original 10.4.3.

Put it in my 10.4.5 system, corrected the permissions and cleaned all caches.

Reboot and noticed at startup the usb is recognized and worked well on my a8v dl.

Rgds.

PS: BIOS -> USB Legacy OFF!

I've used to 10.4.3 IOUSBFamily.kext in my installation of 10.4.6, and my USB works perfectly.

Search TPB for 10.4.3 Extensions

Replace your file in /System/Library/Extensions/ with the 10.4.3 IOUSBFamily.kext

"Then open Terminal and type:

sudo -s

(enter your password)

cd /System/Library/Extensions

rm Extensions.mkext Extensions.kextcache

(no problem if one or both files don't exist)

chown -R root:wheel *.kext

kextcache -k /System/Library/Extensions

(exit terminal)

Applications > Disk Utility > select your volume and repair permissions

Quit and reboot.

That's exactly what i did and it worked like a charm." --Thanks Proteo (much easier than typing it all out)
