You can try iPC OSx86 10.5.6 Universal FINAL, regarding Firewire have tried disabling it from bios settings, and make sure you are installing necessary drivers.

Thank you Tito_Ambrosi.

I am fairly confident with the driver choices I will look into disabling firewire in the bios and report back.

Hi verdant, I went ahead and got a retail copy of Leopard - (Version 10.5 2Z691-6037-A) but every time i try to boot this DVD with Bootloader 132 it just keeps on restarting the machine since Intel PCs cannot read the leopard DVD it goes straight to windows7 which I have installed.

Can you please help me I kind of hit the brick wall I have followed exact bios setting to the book still i cant cannot get it to boot this retail dvd I have also tried with one of the hackintosh DVD which did work on my Asus P5k mobo but doesnt work with SLI mobo I know it is something to do with the kernal.

Also I am so sorry my mobo is not 680i instead it is 780i (I did follow the 780i bios settings from your other post). Is there any bootloader that I can use to boot this retail dvd and get this leopard installed.

Please help me I am really stuck with this sli mobo.

I even downloaded iATKOS_r3 nvidia version even that didnt work please guide me which version will definitely work even a boot loader will do.

As for installing OS X you can EITHER:

A. Try the Boot-132 CD/HDD/USB stick + Retail DVD approach, which does not as yet work easily/readily with all non-Intel chipset MOBOs......e.g. nForce+Intel.... BUT I have produced an nForceBoot132.iso image that I can successfully run with

rd(0,1)/mach_kernel.voodoo -v boot-uuid=10.5.6 Retail DVD uuid

to get into the Retail OS X 10.5.6 DVD installer to install 10.5.6 Retail on a HDD partitioned/formatted as GPT/HFS+, with Chameleon 2.0 RC1 (now RC2 is available) as the HDD bootloader.....

which you can try with your OS X Retail Disk......no guarantees with versions earlier than 10.5.6......

OR

B. Find, obtain and use Kalyway 10.5.2 distro and update using the Mystiquemacus Update Patches, or iPC 10.5.6 Final v1.1 DVD distro and update using the Mystiquemacus Update Patches.......initially installing without video, network and audio drivers......follow my blog install guide.....

Of the distros I have used Kalyway 10.5.2 and iPC 10.5.6 have been the best (clean and stable)......as you can see from my blog.....iATKOS distros can be problematic because in my experience and Mystiquemacus's experience, they tend to change the names of installer packages from the conventional names, causing issues for repairing permissions and updating smoothly.....

Hi verdant, thank you so much for helping me out his far I downloaded the iPC OSx86 Leopard 10.5.6 Intel AMD SSE2 SSE3 and now i can successfully install man on my 780i sli mobo. But since I have two partition I used the boot disk to swap in between the partition which is also fine, but when it comes to loading mac all it shows is the white mac screen and the round circle it goes on for sometime then it just frezzes nothing happens. Can you please help? please take a look at the attached screenshot which has all the option that I can install while installing mac.

If you dont mind can you please highlight which option I should be installing, I check some one the option ie

  • voodoo kernel,
  • NVinjextGo.2.1 768MB Vram (note that my GPU is not listed there my GPU is Gforce 260 840MB),
  • chipset drivers this is where I got confused there are there obvious options 2 applepforce options and one is the nvidia one so I selected the nvidia one,
  • I picked the nForce ethernet driver and
  • the alternate bootloaders I pick the 2nd option thats pretty much it

Can you please take a look.

Thanks

Hi Again,

Do you have any instruction of how to upgrade 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 I was following this page http://www.dailyblogged.com/960/os-x-1057-...allation-guide/ but I am keep on getting the Kernel Panic screen so what I did was put in my ipc 10.5.6 DVD reinstalled the voodoo kernel and managed to get it working but still I get Kernel Panic.

Reason for upgrade is because of my graphic card I cannot install the driver unless I upgrade to 10.5.7.

If you do have any clear instructions for upgrade from 10.5.6 to 10.5.7 that will be great.

Thanks

It is likely that you need a modded DSDT BIOS or need to use a DSDT.aml file in /Extra using Chameleon bootloader......to test this, see if you can boot with -v cpus=1 maxmem=2048.....

To do stable data transfers boot with -v cpus=1 maxmem=2048 to transfer data through Firewire to your HDD......when data transfer to HDD is complete then boot into OS Xagain as normal so that all cores and memory are available......
