mrWolff
Well I used the first mini132 iso from page 18. I have to say that the serial issue hasn't affected me. I've got a unique one. I am also having the same boot issue that everyone else is having but I actually kind of like it oddly enough. Like prior, let me know if you guys want me to do anything! mrWolff
Don't know if anyone else is experiencing this but my speakers keep fuzzing in and out. It'll get loud and then go away or just sit at a quiet volume. Even if I'm not playing anything. Any thoughts? **Update** If I squeeze on the right side of the trackpad the sound increases or decreases depending on where I'm squeezing or how hard. Odd much? paisleymf
Thanks for the help. I got another question, I haven't done this yet but, does the video out work? I pressed by accident the screen switch in the keyboard and it damaged the image, I need it to reboot to bring it back. Any ideas suggestions? darkten
you can use osx86tools to edit the bootstrings and take off either the delay or click silent boot which should stop all prompts etc..interesting i also have the W1234567890 serial number when mine boots up and used your iso too.... will have a look at my kexts and see what's missing! We need to work out *exactly* what is going on here, then. My serial number begins with a C and is a mixed sequence of letters and numbers, like normal apple hardware. Another reason, btw, why this is important is due to some things/features of stuff like iTunes and the iTMS. Pete, have you *added* or replaced any of the extensions? Also, let's look at actual bios settings, etc. If I don't have the same serial as everyone else, then, as these are machines and this is a process, no one should have the same serial as me So, if you are using the same stuff off the iso I made, this is curious, indeed. When you boot next, do a -v; SMBIOS-28 should output something like: --- AppleSMBIOS-28 --- Default BIOS Number: (some info) Default Serial Number: (NOT W1234567890 ) etc. If you are not seeing this, and did not change anything, we need to figure out what is going on. PapaYesse
This no sound issue is driving me nuts. i have run the ALC268_Installer more than once and the sound just won't work. WiFi is working no problem...but no sound. is there anything i can do or something i can check to see why this isn't working? On a side note, Bluetooth is not working either. it is enabled in bios, but it doesn't appear in the top toolbar nor in system prefs. when i try to open bluetooth file exchange it says there is no bluetooth module. any possible causes or solutions? PapaYesse
just out of curiousity did you disable bluetooth in xp before installing osx? I can't remember for sure, but probably yes. However, in bios it still shows the bluetooth as enabled. Let's assume I did disable in windows xp...what would be the fix? Let's assume I did disable in windows xp...what would be the fix? i think this is quite common from this thread and i think one of the guys here had to reinstall xp, then enable bluetooth in that then put back on osx after. what u can do to speed it up is use the latest beta of clonezilla intrepid which will allow you to make an image of your osx install which will save you the time of doing a full reinstall. Wow...that sucks a little. So reinstall windows xp and the drivers that came with the mini...enable bluetooth, then start over with the osx install? i can probably live with that, but will look into clonezilla to save some time on the reinstall. curious...is it possible that I had the sound on mute in windows xp? would this cause my no sound issue? if i am going to reinstall, i want to try and get everything right this time. mypup
I had this problem with bluetooth myself luck had it I had a sd-card (bootable from a usb reader since you cant boot from the internal reader) that I had made with xp on it (usboot.org for info) came in handy for me. I would make sure that while in windows have eveything enabled so that there wont be any problems in os x. Keep up the great works guys and thanks again. davewolfs
That is too bad dave because as far as i know, this machine offers about the best ootb experience of all of these things. I have found, in day-to-day, that sleep is really not an issue, simply because it can be closed to be moved. When closed, the machine shuts off the display and drops to less than 800Mhz and as a habit, i don't keep machines closed and sleeping for hours and hours anyway. It is a great little machine; so much so that I bought another one for someone else. I actually know those guys...I set 'em straight for ya Type11 How can you close the machine have the display shut off but prevent the machine from going to sleep? Thanks For the meantime I have taken off CoolBook as the battery life was the same with and without it loaded so seemed pretty pointless!! Settings wise I just used the default 4 steppings with throttling enabled. PeteRock
It seems to run cooler though does it not? I think it does but how much cooler I cannot say, I was hoping it would increase battery life too but alas it did not happen. 3 hours from a battery is pretty good though i reckon. what's everyone else getting for their battery life?
