USB3 isnt a necessity right now but would be awesome if I could get it working. I just need to be pointed in the right direction. But if someone wants to hold my hand through it all I wouldnt complain one bit. Everything arrives Monday so just want to be squared away with my install. Thanks!
  2. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

I've been to mydellmini.com before. Wasn't a lot of content. If we all move over it might be really nice. I've really been interested getting into mods if I know some other people that have an interest as well. And I will try and go through those steps tonight. Thanks!

Maybe I'm slow but... I've tried doing all this and I still can't get QE working and now VLC won't play my movies I watch. Do we have a perfect step by step fix yet or maybe a new 132 iso or ? lol
  4. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

So I tried everything Type11 said to get QE working and it's still unsupported. Haven't switched kexts yet. Also I just checked and I have the wonky serial number now. But with Darkten's 132 I had my unique one. Should I go back to Darkten's method? I seem to have had less issues that actually affect me. :/
  5. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

I guess I'm not the only one that noticed that just now. I reinstalled with updated 132 and now no QE.

Front row works for me. Sound works along with wifi & BT. One thing that happens to me and I don't know if it helps but sometimes when I restart or shutdown and come back sound wifi and BT and display drivers don't come up. I just restart and then do the: boot: -f and hit enter. Everything comes back just dandy. One thing I do have a problem with though is the cam is really slow. In xp it was perfect but if I use iBooth or iChat or anything it's super laggy. Any suggestions?
  7. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

Just wanted to check to see if anyone else has had the sound problem yet. I can't tell if it has to do with it heating up or if it just happens. The issue was: Fuzzing coming in and out of speakers intermittenly but if you squeeze (atleast on mine) to the right of the trackpad, depending on the pressure the fuzzing will stop. Only until you stop squeezing though. Anyone at all or suggestions? It's really starting to freak me out.
  8. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

Don't know if anyone else is experiencing this but my speakers keep fuzzing in and out. It'll get loud and then go away or just sit at a quiet volume. Even if I'm not playing anything. Any thoughts? **Update** If I squeeze on the right side of the trackpad the sound increases or decreases depending on where I'm squeezing or how hard. Odd much?
  9. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

Well I used the first mini132 iso from page 18. I have to say that the serial issue hasn't affected me. I've got a unique one. I am also having the same boot issue that everyone else is having but I actually kind of like it oddly enough. Like prior, let me know if you guys want me to do anything!
  10. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

Sooo... I installed the retail DVD onto 8gb flash drive and then used the first bootloader and VIOLA!!! I'm posting from the hackintosh right now!! I'm thrilled. Let me know if you guys need anything or want somebody to test stuff. I'm always hacking my stuff.
  11. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

I've done that method... Still fails. That was how I got into all of this on here from doing searches and I thought for sure that if anywhere here would be where all things would be the best. And it is. So yeah. I'm gonna have to figure out why they keep failing. What program do you guys use to burn the discs? (Type11, PeteRock, Darkten, Unaclocker) Thanks!
  12. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

I don't know if any one is having as hard a time as me or not... But I cannot get osx to install no matter what I do... Whether I burn the cd boot it off a drive or whatnot. It always fails to validate or says error and than fails. Even if it is the iAtkos, Kaly, iDeneb... I just want to see it boot once and I'll be happy. I've checksum'd all the files and they are fin and I burn dvd's at lowest speed... Any suggestions? Plus anyone know how to mount a NTFS usb drive? It says error but it is recognized but won't mount. ....I have problems.
  13. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

Awesome! First thing after work os x on my mini here I come!
  14. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

So will the installing off a usb based iso of osx retail work? I'm just wondering if it is possible. I hope so cause my friend took his cd back with him to oregon... :censored2:
  15. Dell Inspiron Mini 9 ?

The boot 132 method is the latest method that they are using. It provides the *cleanest* install. And I think there was a kext quite a bit earlier on for that called something like minibattery that Type11 (i think) added a few pages back.
