PolskaBro1824
I have gotten addicted to my Media Center WIndows so I was wondering the best way to get a setup like that on OSX. I've heard "EyeTV" (not iTV) is an option. Anyone have any other ideas? And experience with TV tuners and remotes. My TV tuner is a Hauppauge WinTV PVR PCI II (as stated in device manager) and the microsoft infrared MCE2005 remote. greyhathacker45
I would suggest that you check in the Dual Booting forum. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12403-television-on-macintel/#findComment-83481 Share on other sites
Mr. Bond
I do think he means using an OS X app that offers similar functionality to that of MCE. I know Myth TV is quite an excellent hombrew option, if you're looking for PVR capabilities. You could take a look at the OSX builds here. evolt
I think EyeTV is the best option out there. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12403-television-on-macintel/#findComment-85440 Share on other sites

Mr Bond - your link is screwed. MythTV as far as I know is just for Linux. I have not seen any builds for OSX. I too have a Hauppage PVR250 that I would like to be able to use in my Hacintosh. Anyone hear anything yet about making it work? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12403-television-on-macintel/#findComment-170179 Share on other sites

zedzed
EyeTV 500 + EyeTV app http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file=products_eyetv500 http://www.elgato.com/index.php?file=products_eyetvmain The app works good well with Hacintosh - but not perfect. My hardware requirements far exceed what is needed but the image - both when watching live TV and recordings the video seems to be slightly stuttery - it does not seem fully fluid. Almost like it is not showing the full 29 fps. Does anyone have a solution for the lack of fluid motion? Elgato does not officially support their app on Hacintosh and so will not help. I also have MediaCentral. Nice app but unfortunately it only works with DVB-T tuners. There is no support for Elgato or other North American hardware. It does though play your movies and music nicely. The weird thing about MediaCentral is that it works with the keyboard and not the mouse. You can connect to your content on NAS servers. Google and YouTube access as well. Skype built in as well. http://www.equinux.com/us/products/mediacentral/index.html Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12403-television-on-macintel/#findComment-318879 Share on other sites

I have been saving for a Miglia myself It is the most complete media experience out there. Paranoid Marvin
I would definately recommend eyeTV and a compatible tuner, the interface and features are second to none Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/12403-television-on-macintel/#findComment-322840 Share on other sites
