well, from what i hear, vista isnt going to support win32 coded programs. if everything must be recoded to .NET, which is what they want everyone to use now, then i think osx would have a head start in the revolution coming from the new Operating Systems. Think of it like how the PS2 came out before xbox, and had a larger control over the market. OSX could start gaining in the market.

 

am i incorrect, or am i on to something here?

80% of windows xp applications will need some modification for full compatibility with vista, and there will be some that just won't work at all. This is due to changes in the API in Vista, but by the time it's released developers will have had plenty of time to update their applications.
