Is there THAT one feature you would like to be added to Windows? Something from OS X or Linux or a completely new feature.

For me - and I am probably in a minority with this -it would be suppor tfor Shell scripting. I can make my life a lot easier with just a loop, find, and grep in *nix and OS X.

And one windows feature I would see on any other OS is the Explorer somehow the Finder or Konqueror or whatever don't seem as good.

I would like to see a MacOS/Atari kind of menubar, though it will never happen.

I would like to see .PNG support added to wallpapers and icons.

I would like to see .PSD and animated .GIF support added to Explorer.

I would like to see Microsoft allow people to to use custom theme files rather than having to patch the current ones. (I mean, really, what's the point of "add a theme" if you can only use the default ones signed by Microsoft?)

Last, I would like to see a replacement for the "Classic" theme. Something that has minimal graphics and uses literally no resources, but doesn't look like pure {censored}.

Use Launchy, its liked finder. You use alt+space and gives you a space to type what you're looking for....VERY handy tool...

You do realize that he was complimenting Explorer, and not criticizing it? Launchy would suck as an Explorer replacement anyways, and it is nothing like Finder. :D

i'd say a linux/unix type security model where you have an actual /home folder separated from /root, even with vista security is still a joke or very annoying to use to the point where most people simply turn it off.

Another thing I would like to see would be for MS to abandon work on IE and Windows media player and instead to work primarily on making the actual windows OS fast and stable without adding a bunch of software that 3rd party companies can make better anyway.

QFE. It'd also be nice to have better drag and drop support between applications (like how in OS 10 you see a preview of what you're dragging).

Make UAC behave more like OS 10 or Linux.

Virus support in Windows Defender (they already have the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool, which can remove some viruses).

A more customizable Start Menu (choose what to link to, rather than just Documents Music etc)

Improved and less cluttered system tray (coming in Windows 7).

Mac OS 10 like stacks that can be used to launch applications.

A set of desktop wallpapers that you WOULDN'T be ashamed to be seen using

A Decent Speech Synthesis voice

Customisable Screensavers

The disappearance of the whole "Enterprise, Basic, Business, Home Premium OR Ultimate" junk

An interface that doesn't take up more resources than the apps you run

A sincere apology for the inclusion of Purble Place
