The main reason that I voted for Gigabyte is it simply works perfectly with stability.

A few small and trivial reasons include:

  1. the comprehensive BIOSes on its boards,
  2. its well-organized website filled with lots of information,
  3. the consistent naming convention for its boards, and
  4. the coloring schemes for the parts and the cable colors.

I never had any of the above from ASUS.

I've owned both Gigabyte and ASUS boards and I have to say that I would choose Gigabyte this time. I've never had problems with the Gigabyte board (can't say the same for ASUS), it just works, great performance, and like Stravaganza said, its perfect stability.

I voted for Intel because it the only brand that I have tried and I am satisfied. I have bought about 7 Intel motherboards for OSx86, but if I was building a Hackintosh today, I would probably go with Gigabyte. This situation will certainly change with upcoming x58 chipset, at that time Intel might be back in the OSx86 game.

I think Asus have the most complete line with some great boards for both Intel and AMD today.

Although, there are some great other brands like DFI (for extreme users like me), Biostar and Gigabyte (btw: why do dthey only hire color blind engineers?).
