declan
I have had little luck with my AMD system, so i am gonna build a cheap intel one, but still gonna cost a couple of hundred, so i would appreciate advice before i waste more money and time.. I have a Sapphire ATi 300SE 128MB should i stick with this or go with a GMA950 board, which is better. I am looking putting together the below Chip : Celeton D336 2.8, i think at has all the extensions, sse3, pae, nx Motherboard : Abit LG-81 http://www2.abit.com.tw/page/uk/motherboar...=Specifications Pioneer DVDRW 109 or would it be better just to get a intel 945g motherboard with pci-e and put my ati card in. MacApprentice
I'd stick with the GMA950 if I were you, far better osx support. Look @ my sig for a perfectly working setup (you can put a slower cpu and ram) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11781-ati-x300se-vs-gma950/#findComment-73887 Share on other sites

MacApprentice
Is it possible to have a GFX card in the PCI-E port and still use the GMA950? I want to put a good GC in for games under XP and still use GMA950 for MacOSX Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11781-ati-x300se-vs-gma950/#findComment-73921 Share on other sites
labria
It is possible - you just have to choose the card you want to use in BIOS. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/11781-ati-x300se-vs-gma950/#findComment-73922 Share on other sites

declan
Well it will dual boot media centre, for pvr150/tv stuff and games, so the geforce 6600gt will do for that. declan
I have been reading the WiKi regarding GMA950 support, .4.3 and .4.4 say all works out the box, however .4.5 says "with AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext can change resolution,Qe & Ci are ok in system pref but can't have openGl effect like turning element in dashboard..." Whats changed, is this card support not going to be straight forward anymore, anyone??
