drumthrasher109
What are the specs on your Gateway? Centrino T5750 2.0GHz, 15.4"-diagonal widescreen WXGA (1280 x 800), 4GB, 250GB, DL DVD+-RW, 802.11a/b/g wireless, 5-in-1 memory card reader, webcam, 56K, Vista Home Premium. What are the EXACT steps to take? This isn't completely my laptop and I don't wanna screw the Vista partition up. I should simple be able to install Leo4Allv3 to a new HFS+ partition and then install the keyboard and graphics fixes afterwards using a USB KB? xbc
No.... the drivers are unstable. I bought an apple airport card (atheros based). That solved the problem. Also some dell cards work fine. But the apple card is a no brainer for support. Paid like 20 bucks for it. It is really easy to swap out. D-Mist
Problem is I cant get the Apple airport card around where I am. Can I swap an atheros based wifi card...not airport this time, with the internet Intel 3945ABG WiFi card? will it work? I know I ve tried something like that previously but it didnt work though I cant remember the particular card I tried. I really wanna have my Wifi working on Mac. xbc
All atheros cards I tested have worked, but then again you will never know until you try. I have not had to add any drivers on the atheros cards I've tested. Also Dell cards 13xx and 14xx work well, no drivers to add either working out of the box. drumthrasher109
Just installed this on the red Gateway (4GB RAM, Centrino CPU, X1300 Video, Sigmatel 9250 audio, Intel Wireless (just the basics)), and it works on the first try. Although to get it to boot to the initial setup stuff I had to boot with -x -v. If I didn't, I would just get a black screen with 2 cursors. The KB/Mouse doesn't work. Although they both did in the installer (using iDeneb v1.3), they aren't now, so I had to get my KB/Mouse from my desktop. Once I get the video, audio, ethernet, and wireless working, it will be perfect. coldfiya1
I just installed ipc 10.5.6 on my Gateway M-6843 laptop. Everything is working except my sound & wireless. Im not sure how the applehdapatcher works, but I placed my codec dump on the icon and nothing happened. This is so frustrating because I am a musician and the sound is the most important piece of the puzzle for me. If anyone has more detailed info on fixing this it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/117480-official-gateway-m-series-support-thread/#findComment-1162567 Share on other sites

Or you have a different wifi card. coldfiya1
Did you get wireless working (iwi3945)? I'm guessing no, since there are no working drivers. Or you have a different wifi card. No wireless working, I have a very long network cable that stretches around the house, i'm surfing the site now to see if anyone got it working yet. I'm hoping someone makes a driver for this wifi card, I like not having to install extra components to get it working. My webcam is weird, it doesn't work with any of the mac applications but it works with camtwist and i also have vmware with windows xp installed and it works there too.... Can't figure that one out. What a stroke of luck I HAD TODAY!!! So a buddy of mine has a Compaq Presario CQ50-105NR Notebook PC. He brought it to me because it keeps shutting down by itself. I found out that the fan is not working, its overheating and shutting down. So I took a look at his wireless card and saw that it was a HP Broadcom 4312MCG PCI-EXPRESS Mini PCI 802.11B/G WiFi Wireless Lan (WLAN). I checked out the IPC 10.5.6 installation disk in the osx patches and saw a patch for Broadcom, so I switched out the cards, installed the broadcom patch, restarted and BAM!!!! AIRPORT RECOGNIZED THE CARD!!!! MY WIRELESS IS WORKING, and so is my friends, the card that was in my computer worked in his with vista so now everybody is happy, especially me!!! ============================================================================ GATEWAY M-6843...(EVERYTHING WORKING) INSTALLATION DISK(IPC 10.5.6) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/117480-official-gateway-m-series-support-thread/#findComment-1175282 Share on other sites
