djet
Okay so my friend has Diablo 2 and I kinda wanna give it a try, but as known, I gotta have a disk. Well we've tried copying disks, unsuccesfully, and then with Disk Utility you can't get audio files from it. Is there like any way to use a different application to go in and make a .iso from a disk that will allow me to either mount it or burn one that will actually work? sg
disk utility should be able to grab all the data for D2 (the D2 audio isnt an audio cd format, its a data file). just make an image from the disk itself (not the partition), and the mount it. also i dont think the latest diablo 2 requires a CD anymore. djet
Hmmm it still does.... but I just installed a VM of Windows and used MagicIso to get it off. Works fine now. Goron
What about giving the new 1.12 patch a try? Blizzard removed the copy protection within this patch, so you are able to play without the cd ... works perfectly in LoD and should work for D2 also ... djet
With the crashing problem for Mac I just run it from Windows now, and it runs great. Just pop up VMWare and then open it on up. No problems there. (Got a No-CD hack too) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114345-diablo-disk-thing/#findComment-811897 Share on other sites
DiaboliK
even before the new loader a simple mounted dmg/iso of the disk worked fine and dandy Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114345-diablo-disk-thing/#findComment-812629 Share on other sites

Blizzard have just recently updated Diablo II/LOD & Starcraft/Broodwar to work on Intel Macs and some surprises from them... Pls checkout the links :- Apple Downloads Blizzard - Diablo II Blizzard - Starcraft Blizzard shows how and what to copy for "NoCD" requirement when playing these games... So have fun with these games & do not forget to get a legit copy of it... P.S. To play on "windowed mode" press "Alt M" when the game starts Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114345-diablo-disk-thing/#findComment-813771 Share on other sites
djet
Ah, I just started playing, but I am on 1.12, but the crashing problem was unrelated to this new patch. It's all good though! Windows has a better version of hamachi anyways. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114345-diablo-disk-thing/#findComment-813781 Share on other sites
