  1. Hi, If you have read some threads whereby we create install media via usb sticks, the you should know that it works to boot a Mac OS of a external usb device. I myself have a usb/esata external for Mac OS Installation and testing partitions on it. Firstly you would need a pc motherboard that has most compatibility with Mac Hardware -> http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.php/HCL_10.7.0 Then prepare your installation media and install onto your external usb device. ( advisable to disconnect all / any existing internal hard disk before running the install to prevent any wrong-doings. Regards, hoyanf

    Shell scripting help...

Guess you'd have to do like this do shell script "cp /System/Library/CoreServices/Setup_Assistant.app/Contents/Resources/TransitionSection.bundle/Contents/Resources/intro-sound.mp3 Desktop" with Administrators privilege You only need to use "-r" when the item you'd want to copy in recursive (e.g. directory with subfolders item's)
  6. Just FYI if you'd still need to use some terminal commands in future and need automation you can always use your friendly Automator. --> Automator --> Run AppleScript on run {input, parameters} do shell script "sudo chown -R root\: ~/Desktop/forcedeth/build/Release/*.kext" with administrator privileges do shell script "sudo chmod 755 ~/Desktop/forcedeth/build/Release/*.kext" with administrator privileges do shell script "sudo kextload ~/Desktop/forcedeth/build/Release/forcedeth.kext" with administrator privileges return input end run For understanding the "Adminitrator privileges" is required when you want/need to use "sudo" in Terminal. Best regards, hoyanf
  7. First of all you're not suppose to edit directly 'sudo nano /etc/fstab'. On Leopard it is supposed to be use with 'vifs', if you want to use 'nano' for editing purposes do this instead => export EDITOR=/usr/bin/nano sudo vifs For fstab settings should be like this => UUID=1234-5678-101112 /Volumes/"Label" hfs rw,noauto 0 0
