Honestly, who really cares if it looks differently? Operability is more important to me. Make "Search" function like it should.

If you're gonna make it darker, then ok. It's only a color change.

Come on everyone together now..."search! search! search! search!" :thumbsup_anim:

I vote for improving the search function as well; generally I have greater success when I use google to search here.

Sadly, this is true for me as well!

I actually do agree quite a bit that the improved functionality of this site should come before its aesthetics.

Even then, the new skin should be entirely optional.

If it's not broken, don't fix it.

In some cases I'm tempted to agree with you. Personally I'm not to keen on the new "dark" theme.

The "dark" layout does not come across as being all that "inviting" , in contrast I get a warez/ underground/ hacker feeling from it. But that could just be me :(

While I would definitely place functionally over superficial cosmetic changes I would not discount them entirely.

If the goal is to establish some sort of commonality to the site then we all need to take a step back. And look at the whole picture versus a single logo or proposed site layout.

In Isolation things may look great, but when packed together you may find that all your left with is a bunch of ill fitting mis-matched pieces.

Cheers,
