MLPL
hi all I just replaced my battery few days ago for a brand new from the battery exchange program....the battery is new 100% ..0 charge cicles... but it is stuck on 16% i can´t charge the battery only discharge, the laptop is working well without the battery (only ac) i got a screenshot of the problem it says charger connected:yes battery is charging :no the laptop shows the battery icon "charged" instead of the "charging" icon.... so it thinks it is charged at 16% also it says my mac is 24453 months old ....it means 2037 years <----- weird ...there was no ibook´s when jesus crist was born... btw my hardware is iBook G4 12" 800 mhz 640mb ddr 2100 Mac OS X tiger 10.4.11 30 gb HDD ati radeon 9200 32mb wifi Zydas a.b.g Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114006-ibook-g4-won%C2%B4t-charge-new-battery/ Share on other sites
urgonah8me
maybe jesus created Apple! conspiracy But hmm yeah thats a strange issue :S.... For some reason my acer laptop battery did the same thing so I simply bought a new one and it did the trick. Can you test that battery in another ibook? (I know could be pretty hard to find someone else with another ibook) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/114006-ibook-g4-won%C2%B4t-charge-new-battery/#findComment-808120 Share on other sites

A Nonny Moose
Did you calibrate the battery? Let it run until the system dies and then plug it into the wall to charge the battery. Then come back and see if that did the trick. rwd7346
Hello, I have the exact same problem (with my iBook G4) that just began tonight. I attempted to re-calibrate the battery but it just sits at 0% now. The screen (by dimming, as well as the icon changing from charger to battery) recognizes when the charger is connected, however the battery programs like Coconut say the battery is "charged" yet the percent is 0...whenever I plug it in. Any luck with a solution to yours?
