cjgrode
So I did a clean Kalyway install (10.5.2) and it was almost perfect. I was having some sound issues that you folks were kind enough to fix but now I noticed another problem. Other than my keyboard and mouse no usb ports work. I've tried plugging in my iphone, usb drive, microphone etc and nothing even gets recognized. My specs are below if you have any suggestions I can try to make them work. I would really love to sync my iphone. Processor – Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66ghz) Motherboard – GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L Video Card – MSI 8800GTS (512mb newer version) Memory – 4GB Gskill PC-6400 Case – Cooler Master Cosmos 1000 DVD Drive – Lite-On 20x DVD Burner with Lightscribe Hard Drive – 500GB Seagate 7200RPM Power Supply – 610W PC Power and Cooling Power Supply Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/112559-usb-ports-not-working/ Share on other sites

cjgrode
Since this is my first install and its working so good I dont want to risk going to 10.5.3. Isnt there any kexts I can install to make them work? nikonnut
cjgrode, Have you tried plugging in a device and restarting you computer? If the device shows up when you do that you may have a conflict between your kernel revision and your system.kext revison. Give what I suggested a try and post back Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/112559-usb-ports-not-working/#findComment-797090 Share on other sites
cjgrode
Just tried that with two devices (iphone, flash drive) and neither where recognized. Also I was trying to download some small files and they never showed on my desktop until after my restart. weird! Gujal
What kernel are you running. If you are on Kalyway 10.5.2, you should be running Vanilla 9.2.2, which will solve your USB problem. cjgrode
What kernel are you running. If you are on Kalyway 10.5.2, you should be running Vanilla 9.2.2, which will solve your USB problem. Maybe a dumb question but how do I check? Also if it isnt and I do a reinstall where do I select the Vanilla Kernel?
