No matter what i what i do, it goes disco.... omniatlas Posted May 13, 2010 Share Posted May 13, 2010 Just downloaded Portal Steam, I get about 15-20 FPS at full settings 1680x1050 on my ATI4850. Game screams on my windows partition. Anyone know what the problem is?? I'm runnning Mac OSX 10.6.3 with 10.6.2 drivers (as recommended by netkas). I've almost the same card, mine is just "Golden Sample" ( GPU=700MHz-Memory=1100MHz) Mine is working Ok with OSX 10.6.3 Some modifications are needed before restart: 1)LegacyATI4800Controller.kext in /Extra http://www.kexts.com/view/113-legacyati4800controller.html and apply 2) 10.6.3 exotic patch pkg from netkas http://mirror.netkas.org/QE%20CI%20Exotic%...ds%2010.6.3.pkg I use also the ATI rom Bios injection feature ! download your bios from here: 3) http://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/29850/G....512.080813.bin and put it in /Extra but rename it ati_9442_1002.rom 4) and edit com.apple.boot.plist in /Extra like this : VideoRom =/Extra/ati_9442_1002.rom also i specified 5) GraphicsEnabler=yes Graphics Mode=1920x1080x32 (depends of coarse which screen definition you want ! My screen is connected on 2de DVI connector ! Hope this helps ! Run the installation package 7_radeon_hd_48x0_drivers.pkg Install ATY_Motmot.kext with Kext Helper Reboot -f -v Bug - Bouncy Screen. Downloaded Package Natit_no_powerplay_4800_4600.pkg and install it. Reboot, and shout out WILL FARELLS NIPPLES!!! Got 1920x1080 resolution!!! wooooot...!!!
