Eric.C
k... so I'm trying to install Windows on a separate HDD from my OS X disk... but it says that my disk does not meet the criteria for the install (Its a blank disk with no partitions and more than enough free space)... Here's my system spec: Intel C2D ASUS P5B 320GB HDD (OS X) 120GB HDD (Time Machine) 500GB HDD (Data) 120GB HDD (Windows) The 320GB HDD is connected via SATA The 2 120 GB HDDs are connected via IDE (Time Machine= master, Blank for Windows= slave) the 500 HDD is external... ...anyone know why it says that none of the disks meet the criteria??? (MoC)
Get a gParted and format the Windows HDD as NTFS. It must be RAW and Vista must be kinky about it. Try it and tell me what you see. ~ MoC Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111426-help-with-installing-windows/#findComment-789279 Share on other sites

(MoC)
It could be the BIOS setting. Is IDE primary as a bus? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111426-help-with-installing-windows/#findComment-790209 Share on other sites
Numberzz
What is the disk connected by? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111426-help-with-installing-windows/#findComment-790483 Share on other sites
Dermatea
The 2 120 GB HDDs are connected via IDE (Time Machine= master, Blank for Windows= slave) There's probably some conflict going on with those two IDE drives. Try disconnecting the Time Machine drive and see if the installation goes through. Also, make sure the drive with Windows is the first hard drive your BIOS loads. charlz
i THINK windows xp cannot detect Sata drives. you shoud find a driver and customize your installer with nlite (although i think it's a windows only program) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/111426-help-with-installing-windows/#findComment-792049 Share on other sites
