macgirl
I like more the "Crazy Warnings" but I think they just be cautious about law suits for not warning people, and also you never know how idiot can people be until you hear a complain abouth something. Metrogirl
Glad they made people laugh! The headlines are sometimes a bit hard to get if your first language isn't English. I was almost incapacitated over some of them myself and I still laugh at them. The most obscure to my mind is the "residents can drop off trees" - it meant that they could deposit old Christmas trees at the town dump. My favourite is the one where Sir Vivian Fuchs Off to Antarctica and I've seen the original cutting for that one so I know it's genuine! For those who don't know, "Sir Vivian Fuchs" was a famous explorer... I added the 'Crazy Warnings' section in the last 24 hours so if you haven't seen it, follow the original link and scroll to the bottom of the page for the new link. There are few howlers there ... maybe I should add the six inch extension cord quote to it when I get round to it I still laugh uncontrollably when I imagine a slightly stupid and bewildered user trying to follow the instructions rather too literally for that stick deodorant... Jaroneko
Those headlines were really great. And most of them I hadn't even seen before, which is very nice. For more stuff like these try http://rinkworks.com/said/
Metrogirl
Thanks, Jaroneko! There's a lot of good stuff there! When I lived in Chicago I had an apartment on the second floor. A good friend, concerned for my welfare, gave me an 'escape ladder', a sort of metal rope ladder which you were supposed to hook onto the window ledge and drop outside so you could climb out in case of fire. It came in a large box and I put it under the bed unopened. Fortunately I never needed to use it. When I moved house I came across the box during unpacking and I decided to open it to see what the ladder was like. Inside were two chains, a collection of steel rungs, a pack of screws and a leaflet entitled "How to assemble your safety escape ladder". OMG. Like I said, fortunately I never needed to use it...
Jaroneko
I can just imagine finding your apartment in flames, the doorway blocked and pulling the box out and open. Have a happy landing and so forth... ^^ Yes, RinkWorks has been my trusty laugh-companion for many years now and they still update from time to time. Oh and remember to try http://rinkworks.com/stupid/ as well! :censored2:
