Poco
I currently have this problem. For a start I updated my system using the genuine update just I didn't update the kernel, extensions, and system configuration. There is either a problem outside of these folders OR there is an update needed to these files. I will be updating to the genuine kernel shortly. As a quick fix boot F8 then -f -x to go into safe boot from there the menus work fine. To solve the problem someone needs to find the difference between normal boot and safe boot.OK further now it only loads certain kexts while booting in safe boot.Just looked on the Apple website the differences that matter to this problem are that the system only loads certain kexts. I'll try and find the list of required kexts and compare the two to find the extra ones in normal boot that cause the distortion.
Poco
THIS IS THE FINAL VERSION 1) Go into /Applications/Utilities/Directory Utility.app (something like this) 2) Edit>Enable Root User 3) Enter password of your choice 4) Logout 5) Login Other: User:root Password: 6) Go into /System/Library/Extensions and find and replace them with the attached files: -AppleIntelGMA950.kext -AppleIntelGMA950GA.plugin -AppleIntelGMA950GLDriver.bundle -AppleIntelGMA950VADriver.bundle The attached files are extracted from the latest update 10.5.3. so they are fine. IvanPistoff
After running the 10.5.3 update my video doesn't work at all! I get a blank black screen. I know the system is working because once the hard drive light stops flashing I can hit the power button, then "enter" and it shuts down safely. I tried copying the kexts mentioned here but no difference. Any ideas? Thanks!
