vaporATX
Yeah, it's a budget gaming build I'm working on for a friend. His mistake asking an overclocker to build it. That alone will add a week or so to the build time while I see what it can do. djet
I like that build..... working at a restaurant to pick up Spanish doesn't pay that much so that might be a good option for me. Any chance you could post the specs or do you already have a topic on it? vaporATX
Here's the parts, where I got 'em, and what I paid: Gigabyte EP35-DS3R mobo - $90 (openbox from Frys) Intel E6550 Core2 - $65 (used from local shop) Geforce 7900 GTX 256mb - $58 (used ebay) Crucial Ballistix DDR800 2x1GB - $32 (new ebay) Western Digital 500GB sata - $65 (rebate frys) Dell sata DVD-RW - $25 (new - local discount store) Sparkle SPI600GLN 600W EPS12v - $60 (oem version of the Action 600 @ 2/3rds the price - local discount store) 3 Silenx 80mm case fans - $22 (ebay) Zalman CNPS8700 Ultra Quiet CPU Cooler - $19 (ebay) Total - $436.00 (Note: The Asus P5K-E box is just an old box I used to setup on. The system uses the above Gigabyte board.) I have this machine running stable @ 3.5GHz. Temps idle/load 33c/57c E6550 isn't a good overclocking proc, but it's cheap. If anybody wants to know the bios settings just ask. djet
I do not have any experience with building computers, but I got lots of people near me that do, so once I get the money I might get one of them to help me out with it.... Thanks for the info! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/105439-insanely-great-new-machines-from-apple/#findComment-752116 Share on other sites
