HeldDown
Hey guys, I've been doing as much reading as I can, but I'm stuck at an impasse: I'm trying to install the Kalyway 10.5.2 release on my Asus M5A laptop, and Darwin doesn't get any farther than a screen thats starts with "... MAC Framework successfully intialized..." has a TON of text, and then ends with: BSD process name corresponding to current thread: kernel_task Mac OS version: Not yet set Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 9.2.9: Sun Mar 2 00:11:08 SCT 2008; made by ToH:xnu-1228/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386 and it just hangs there forever. I assume this is a kernel panic of some sort, since earlier it says "Debugger called: <panic>" and then talks about "potential args on stack." Any help for a noob? Thanks! HeldDown
Just an update: I ran the install with "-x -v" and it seemed to get a little farther, but still eds up with a similar kernel panic, and freezes at: "Mac OS version: 92C015 Kernel version: Darwin Kernel Version 9.2.0: Sun Mar 2 00:11:08 SCT 2008; made by ToH:xnu-1228/BUILD/obj/RELEASE_I386" Help would be *greatly* appreciated :/ Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100530-installing-1052-on-an-asus-laptop/#findComment-717100 Share on other sites

super_engine
Insert your Kalyway DVD -Press F8 fo to start in verbode mode -Try to start with -v -LEGACY (this boot method ask at the CPU to work only with most simply mode - NO 64 BIT etc...) After this, if don't work correctly try to simplify at maximum possible the machine in the BIOS (disable all possible) Good Luck Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100530-installing-1052-on-an-asus-laptop/#findComment-913456 Share on other sites

Put a request in the mod bios thread for you laptop. Look on the Asus web site for the bios file and put the URL in the request. reeve
Also, you can check out a PPF to patch your kalyway 10.5.2 dvd to remove the .kext that is causing the problem. Check out http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=127221 Also you can check out iDeneb v1.3 10.5.5 install dvd - it has the fix for that particular .kext already removed. (note: fix was added in v1.3, don't get an earlier version) Much easier then modding your BIOS, imo. -reeve Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100530-installing-1052-on-an-asus-laptop/#findComment-913668 Share on other sites
