Lost extra current through USB in Sierra

In El Capitan my Z77X-UP5 TH motherboard used to be able to output higher current power through the USB ports, so I could charge some devices. After updating to Sierra, it has since stopped working. It required DSDT to work properly, and didn't require the "High Current" option in Clover to be turned on (I didn't even noticed it until it stopped working).

Was there a significant change to USB in Sierra that could have caused it? I'll attach both my vanilla and patched DSDT.

Me too. Had it working without DSDT in 10.11 on a Z97M-PLUS. Allowed me to charge my iPhone up to 2100mA. Not anymore in Sierra.

I not only lost that, but also intel USB3 on GB Z77-DS3H.

Did any of you manage to get it back? I still haven't, and I miss it

This is not a good solution, but temporarily I use 10.11.6's IOUSB*.kext on Sierra 10.12.x for "Current Available (mA)". It's always better back up ur 10.12.x's Vanilla kexts first. Still waitin' 4 simple solution than this.. My mach just has USB2.0 Ports, not trying yet on USB3.0.

Oh, that's nice, I will give it a try. Does it work with SIP on?

Well, using 10.11.6's kexts worked for me  :thumbsup_anim:

It's not the best solution but works fine, and didn't cause any trouble.

My "Current available" went from 500mA to 1000mA for every USB port, and USB3 ports give me extra current. My iPhone now uses 2100mA total current.

Thank you badruzeus :)

Hi guys, I know this topic is old, but did anyone find a better solution for this? I have two machines one with z77 and another with z97 both having this issue.

I´m booting on both with Clover.

There are cases that I need to charge my iPhone and this is going very slowly without the extra current option.
