jcyshin
Hi guys, I am a new to these forums and also a noob at Hackintosh. I have been trying for a while now but can't even seem to get a bootable USB or DVD made . Gone through 10 DVD's and tried 6 distro's with no luck on making the bootable USB. I am running the following hardware and was hoping someone could give me hand and tell me if its possible to make a hackintosh with my setup? Specs are in my signature below but just in case it doesn't show up properly, here are the specs anyway: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE Asus M4A88TD-M EVO/USB3 Corsair XMS3 4GB Samsung 500GB Spinpoint F3 SATA2 CORSAIR AX750 750W ATX12V Can someone please please please tell me what I need to do to make this work. Ideally, once I get Mac OS X running, I would like to work on a Quad boot Mac OSX/Win 7/Android Icecream Sundae/Ubuntu 11.10. Any help provided would be much great. Thank you all so much in advance JCYSHIN -

goodguess
Presuming you want to install Snow Leopard, AppliArt wrote a fine guide, some time ago: http://www.osx86.net/desktops/9746-guide-os-x-10-6-amd.html If you wish, you may try this CD from nawcom for booting : http://www.multiupload.com/17ROM1PZBE Your HD4250 mGPU should hopefully work with Graphicsenabler. Thank you all so much in advance JCYSHIN - I have the same motherboard and I've sucessfully installed Retail 10.6 on my PC. Try to restore your Retail DVD image to pendrive 8GB formatted to HFS+. Then boot nawcom's ModCD and boot from USB stick with command: -v busratio=20 -force64 arch=i386 . It worked for me. Also Change in BIOS sata controller form IDE to AHCI and Disable C1E. After that it would work. Don't burn installation to DVD because It doesn't work, hangs up and shows "still waiting for root device" (for me ). Chameleon should be installed automatically. If you completed installation and make first boot use command: -v -x busratio=20 -force64 arch=i386 . If you won't use it your computer propably will shutdown (like mine). Can you give me an actual step by step guide? Presuming you want to install Snow Leopard, AppliArt wrote a fine guide, some time ago: http://www.osx86.net/desktops/9746-guide-os-x-10-6-amd.html If you wish, you may try this CD from nawcom for booting : http://www.multiupload.com/17ROM1PZBE Your HD4250 mGPU should hopefully work with Graphicsenabler. Thanks goodguess, i will look into it more. I am hoping my HD4250 mGPU can run it as well because i don't have the $$$ to get another graphics card. NZ sux when it comes to computer gear, way too expensive. Any ideas around my Quadboot ? I have the same motherboard and I've sucessfully installed Retail 10.6 on my PC. Greets lol thanks Resset, you have given me a glimmer of hope as everywhere i have looked, not many people were using the board we have, most went to gigabyte and others spent more money on buying more expensive boards if you have any ideas regarding my quadboot that I am trying to do please PM me. cheers hello in the chameleon screen type the commands good hack Thanks artur-pt, i would but as i mentioned i am a complete noob, i know what chameleon looks like but no idea about anything else lol but i will looking it a bit more. once again, thanks for the help. Resset
It won't be hard if you use chameleon. But I've only tested with win7. Install Mac os as last because it changes boot partition. About installing it try to find sth in Italian forum. When you choose kexts tick Ari graphics. I've never tested Mac os with internal graphic. Just try

goodguess
Any proceedings jcyshin? The nawcom mod CD mentioned above, booted my AMD box just fine and I installed OSX on a old backup sATA. For your quad boot, Chameleon/Chimera sees my Win7 partition and lets me boot from it, but it does not see the Mandriva partition behind the NTFS partition on the same disk. Maybe I am missing something... I am usually using the BIOS boot selector (F9) to choose bootdisks. Something could be done with GRUB, I suppose, which is still on my Windows disk. But I dont mind it as it is.
