Got my cable yesterday, and booted up today with it. Been booting with the start button of an old box, really nice to just be able to run it now. Does what it says :D. USB is fine, don't have firewire on my MB.

My cable was shipped way before yours and I still havent received it :/

Sorry to hear! I've check the shipping status with the tracking number (the one I sent you). Last entry is on the 13/7. I will check at the post office next time Im there. Unfortunately I must wait 30 days from the shipping date to be able to place a complaint...

  • 2 weeks later...

I read it here that people have been having problems with audio (with AloahCab's cable). Just wondered if anyone has had similar experiences.

From this post

There are two different problems with audio:

-AppleHDA.kext patching: This is independent from the cable and the G5 front panel. Your HDA kext must have the internal port enabled in order to send audio signal through it. The easiest way to test this is from windows. If the front audio works in Windows but not under OSX, then you need to repatch your HDA kext. Thats not an easy task but if you have the time to investigate and try, is doable.

-Audio Sense feature: The audio sense on the G5 front panel isnt standard. Some motherboards needs an extra jumper to ground the audio sense signal at the HDA internal port as explained here: http://arrifana.org/...osh-2/#comments

Last month someone had the same problem and we fix it with this extra jumper. In my experience this concerns z68 gigabyte series. Is not hard to fix.

Got my cable up and running, works perfectly with my Asus P8 Z77 M-Pro and Asus Xonar DX Soundcard.

To anyone thinking of buying, I cant recoomend enough, the cables are of great quality and completed my casemod.

Thank you very much to BlackCH for providing these cables :)
