  1. That should be quite a nice system. I have a very similar 3770K based machine (overclocked to 4.2 GHz) that performs very well for similar work, although I use a Quadro 4000 rather than the 770 as I use it for Architectural visualisation. Given the way OS X handles GPUs I have been considering changing over to a 770/780. Longevity wise it should be good for a reasonable while. My build was completed shortly after Ivy Bridge was released and, with its overclock, it gets better geekbench scores than the 6 core nMP.
  2. I used a Quadro 600 on my Hackintosh until I got a deal on a 4000. Had no luck getting it to recognise more than 512 MB. Never tried multiple monitors. Works well apart from that, and a lot quieter and cooler than the 4000!
  3. G5 Front Panel to ATX I/O Cables

Just got my cables through this morning. Hooked them up and everything's working perfectly. Brilliant quality. Thanks for the fantastic work.
  4. I mounted two 140mm fans to the front of my G5 mod with some 3M double sided adhesive tape. I think this is the stuff I used (my work had some that I "borrowed" a length of). Just a bit on each corner of a fan stuck it nice and tight to the front of the case, and as it's about 1mm thick it dampens any noise/vibration too. I'll take a pic later.
  5. G5 Front Panel to ATX I/O Cables

Just sent you payment through for 2 cables with ground jumpers for firewire. Thanks!
  6. I'm in the process of building an Ivy Bridge based hackintosh/Windows PC in a G5 case and although I've chosen the majority of the hardware, I'm having trouble choosing between two motherboards. I know that Ivy Bridge is still unsupported under OS X but as the primary purpose of this machine is for CAD (AutoCAD, Revit, 3DS Max) under Windows, this isn't an immediate problem. I would like to make things as easy as possible once support starts coming through (hopefully soon!). The specs so far are: - i7 3770 - 16Gb RAM - NVIDIA Quadro 2000 (I know it's not a great gaming card, but for the main purpose of this machine its what I need) - 120Gb Vertex 3 SSD boot drive - 500Gb Western Digital Caviar Blue 7200RPM HDD storage drive - Firewire card (exact card not chosen yet) The two boards I'm looking at at the moment are the Asus P8Z77-V LX and the Gigabyte Z77-DS3H. What do you think would be best? I'm open to alternative suggestions. Thanks.
