mlb5000
I'm sure everyone has heard about HP's new UMPC, the Mini-Note (specs here: http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en/sm/WF...5-3687084.html), but does anyone think it would be possible for it to run OS X? Chipset: VIA Graphics: VIA Processor: VIA C7-M ULV, chip is still x86 Audio: ADI SoundMAX AD1984A Ethernet: Broadcom 57xx LOM Wifi: Integrated Broadcom 4311AG WiFi Adapter; Integrated Broadcom 4311BG WiFi Adapter; Bluetooth: HP Integrated Module with Bluetooth 2.0 Wireless Technology Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99828-hp-2133-mini-note-umpc/ Share on other sites
evanrodge
Nope, it uses Unichrome video. Which don't have ANY driver support what so ever. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99828-hp-2133-mini-note-umpc/#findComment-712879 Share on other sites
Onetrack
and a big no because its a via chipset.. ALTHOUGH you should check out the ECS g10il, I have great hope for it being a hackintosh laptop because its a 945gcm chipset.. it looks like the best small and light to work with osx. I will definately be picking one up to test and see. TrYp MyNe
honestly, i partially disagree with the 2 above me. if you look at zephyroth's install dvd, it has via chipsets which aid in making mac run. and somebody has probably already tried making a kernel compatable with via chips. so there is a start to making the mini-note run mac. it is very possible, just need more time on the streets for ppl to work with them and make all the kexts. but yea, doubtful now, likely in the future though Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99828-hp-2133-mini-note-umpc/#findComment-736911 Share on other sites
dynroden
So had someone finally success on bringing Leopard to a Mini-Note? It runs on the OQO as well, which has the same VIA CPU or am I wrong? Thanks, toby Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99828-hp-2133-mini-note-umpc/#findComment-918136 Share on other sites

tuyre
Attn. Nick 14: Just some friendly advice to all those making unqualified statements... The oqo 02 runs leopard and since the hp 2133 uses the same via c7 processor, its within the realms of possibility.
