jadphoto14
How did you enable AHCI in the first place? I'm still installing leopard, but can it be done in BIOS before I install? And I'm sorry for no answer. Franfj
I think it's normal. Mine also does this. It's because after enabling the AHCI support the internal Hard Drive is detected as a removable Hard Disk (you could see it in the "system profiler" - i don't know if this is the exact name because I'm spanish and I have my Leopard in my language ). If you don't like it you always could replace it with the white one Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99252-when-i-enable-ahci-hard-drive-icons-are-orange-please-help/#findComment-708722 Share on other sites
Gujal
Orange icons are correct as AHCI drives are hot swappable. But if you dont want that functionality, then use the following kexts from brazilmac patch and you will get the shiny aluminium icons. IOAHCIFamily.kext v1.0.3 AppleAHCIPort.kext v1.0.7 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/99252-when-i-enable-ahci-hard-drive-icons-are-orange-please-help/#findComment-708878 Share on other sites

Gujal
@MacUser2525 That is not a fix, it is just swapping icons around. The downside is USB/Firewire drives will show up with Aluminuim icons if you do that.
