orphenshadow
From what i can gather peter, no one is willing to help out, since anything actually helpfull violates the so called DCMA... I have an aclink card, and no clue how to get sound installed. and every source i find, says removed due to DCMA grr.. its frustrating as hell. Deetman
I am far from an expert on the subject, but your card should be AC97 compliant, therefore it should work with the AppleAC97 driver. If I had to throw a guess out there I would say that your device id for your sound card is not listed in the kext. You could try adding your device id to the kext and see what happens. orphenshadow
How much are the USB sound cards and are they osx86 compatable, because essentially that is all i lack to have a full working solution. That and my ATI 9800 pro driver, which i have yet to see if it works with 10.4.4 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9880-conexant-amc-ac97-audio-problem/#findComment-63481 Share on other sites

orphenshadow
No, unfortunatly there isnt a way to do that.. you would need headphones or a small speaker set, i bought the mini usb sound card for my system, i am pleased to say that it is indeed up and running. Thanks for the help guys. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/9880-conexant-amc-ac97-audio-problem/#findComment-63548 Share on other sites

jdxxx
Maybe this will help, since it seems to be generally known by many and not restated: AC97 sound drivers for the Mac crack do not send the audio to the green "sound out plug" as usually expected. There is a blue or black pluggin jack on the sound output panel of most MOBOs. Plug your speakers into this and give it a try. Hey, try plugging into every jack. Also, go to System Preferences and click on Sound. If you see an input and output device, your sound is being recognized by the system. Try another jack to find the signal. If everything is greyed-out, you do really have a problem. BTW, All the drivers (kext files) you need are on the 10.4.3 8F1111 disk. If you installed from a JaS patch 4.2b version of this disk, they will be in the System/Extensions folder. Best regards, Rayan I've tried to use your modified .kext on mine... installed with kexthelper but when finished it shows me a message saying restart my computer, holding down power button. Then i restarted the machine and when the apple boot logo appears it shows me again the same message. And can't boot anymore! What could be wrong?
