frEEki
Hi there. Does someone know if it is possible to make Leopard auto-reboot after a kernel panic? I am using my mac as a server running at home. Sadly it crashes from time to time leaving the system with this damn scrren that i should press my power button... you know... Automatic restarting would be cool. I know its possible under Linux. So i guess there is a way to do so under os x as well. Since google wasnt my friend this time i hope someone here knows how its done. aprodigy
a 'watchdog' would be your friend but you'll need some kind of hardware as a 'watchdog' since when a kernel-panic happened, no software component could take care of restarting your server anymore. Superhai
Install Leopard server. Or you have to checkout the IOKit watchdog service. aprodigy
...and that software component actually IS able to restart a hung up server without any watchdog device after a kernel panic?! didn't even get linux to do that but well, it's years ago that i was experimenting with that...
