kikos
This thread is to discuss observations of general software problems/issues that people have in OS X 10.4.4, especially if the problem didn't occur in 10.4.3. If you don't have your hardware specs in your sig, please post your CPU and graphics types when you post an observation. Also, it would be helpful for people who don't experince the problem to post as well with their specs so we can see if hardware incompatibilty is the problem. Here's what I've noticed in 10.4.4. System Profiler / About this Mac Issues 1. OS X 10.4.4 incorrectly reports that I have 2GB of RAM in my system when I actually have 1GB. 10.4.3 correctly recognizes 1GB. 2. The hardware overview section displays an error, while the individual hardware sections reveal information about the specific hardware. iTunes problems 1. iTunes set up wizard windows (when you first run itunes) are blank except for the Next and Cancel buttons. 2. iTunes Preferences window is blank or doesn't appear at all 3. No Applescript support for iTunes in 10.4.4 while there was support in 10.4.3. AppleScript does work for other apps. 4. The above iTunes problems persist regardless of whether I install 6.0.1 (the developer 10.4.3 version), 6.0.2 or 6.0.3. Prior iTunes versions require Rosetta and crash when run. R. Bear Helms
The 16-bit GMA900 screen driver is wonky for me. It's possible some of the drawing routines of the OS aren't that stable/perfect with 16 bit color. Boost to 32 bit and try that.
