Well, I need a solution too,

We need to make our own investigation to get this card working, I recommend star with the information we have and with our tests, and configuration (including dev id), so we can probe if it´s only the combination of some particular version of drivers or we need to modify it.

My Setup is,

Gateway M6809-m

Core2duo 1.67 Ghz

3GB Ram

ATI HD 2400XT dev id 94c8

Sofware used to probe

Leo 10.5.1 Kalyway, Vanilla Kernel and edit ATIRadeonx2000.kext to add my device id, result----- Corruped Grpahics

Leo 10.5.2 Kalyway 10.5.2 updated with Kaly 10.5.2 + Vanilla Kernel, edit ATIRadeon2000.kext to add my device id, result-----Corrupted Graphics

10.5.2 (as before), updated with Graphics update 1.0 from Apple, edit edit ATIRadeonx2000.kext to add my device id, result----- Corruped Grpahics

Aditional Sofware used

Triakis Package ATI2000, corrupted Graphics

Natit version 02/26/2008, Corrupted Graphics.

Netkas says on his site that this card is working but only with external Monitor, I probe this and no luck.

I hope this works because its the only device that I need to get my hackbook working at full.

Thanks

I agree, we need to push the 2400XT.

Setup

Dell Optiplex 755

Core 2 Duo@2.66GHz

2GB DDR2 667

ATI HD 2400XT dev id 94c1

iATKOS ir2 10.5.1 9.2.0 Kernel.

Updated to 10.5.2 following netkas update procedure.

ATIRadeonx2000.kext to add my device id, result----- Corrupted Graphics

Triakis Package ATI2000 - corrupted Graphics

Edit ATINDRV.kext with ATY,Franklin.kext - gray Screen

Natit version 02/26/2008 - Corrupted Graphics.

Drivers From 2600ATI.kext & 2900ATI.kext - Corrupted Graphics.

RadeonHD Package from irc.osx86.hu #radeon hd - Corrupted Graphics.

This is not the same as the 2400 Pro. In my case there is only the DVI output since my box is a small form factor box.

Hopefully someone's working on the DVI issue.

Cheers ;)

Any news on this I too could use a solution for the ATI Mobility HD2400 (Dev ID: 94c9) =/= "Mobility HD2400" not the PRO or XT version it has 256Mb non-shared Memory.

The Hackbook in question is a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pi 2550:

CPU: Intel® Core 2 Duo @ 1.87Ghz w/Centrino® Technology

RAM: 2Gib DDR2 SO-DIMM RAM (2x1Gib)

Sound: Realtek ALC883

Modem: Motorola SM56 Data Fax Modem

LAN: Realtek 8101E Family PCI-E Fast Ethernet

WiFi: Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG / Atheros WN6301A / WN6302A MiniCard 802.11 b/g

HDD: 320Gib Western Digital WDC3200BEVT-22ZCT0

CD/DVD: HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N ATA

Video: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400

Currently using the iDeneb v1.3 (OSX 10.5.5), and the internal display is not currently working outside of Safemode... :)

  • 2 months later...

using natit.kext from iAtkos v5i can detect my card as ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT (Vanilla)

with natit.kext edit to use Megalodon and mix it with ATI Radeon HD pkg (now 10.5.6)

i can get QE/CI on external monitor using VGA output... BUT... i have fuzzy picture...

no video on my laptop

Spec

Acer Aspire 4920G Dev Id 0x94c8

My thought :

- natit from iAtkos with Megalodon i think is the most compatible with my graphic card, cause it can read my card correctly

- try to recompile the X2000.kext, to route it back from VGA to DVI (from my research our internal display is using the DVI)

correct me if i'm wrong... it just a thought from me...

  • 1 month later...

reporting again... updating to os x 10.5.6 make the fuzzy go away... on the extenal monitor...

now i have full QE/CI and can change resolution on the external monitor... quite happy for now...

cause i'm kinna lose all idea how to make this internal monitor alive... :(

Look in this topic: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=149872

There some people try to get work the Ati Mobilities on internal monitor.

Ati mobilities use different framebuffers than other cards, so there are no drivers for Ati mobility.

In the topic i wrote there are different kexts from people who get work their Mobilities, but they desn't work on every laptop.

So when you want, try this kexts or give ideas to the discussion, it will help for anybody.
