Sorry come again? If you meant that ~Framebuffer Hack~ then, it's simple READ THAT THREAD! I really wouldn't know anymore about it having lost interest in that endeavor till someone manages to fix that retched Intel Wi-Fi Card. If you meant by way of my Post script, then that's even simpler, just use an External VGA Monitor. and when you go to reinstall your flavor of the Day OSX, just use the desktop Driver for the HD2400 (or it's nearest equivalent). Needless to say this WILL NEVER WORK on the Internal Screen (e.g. the Laptop Screen), but you will find that OSX will chug along very nicely with (or without) QE & CI. ON AN EXTERNAL MONITOR. Not exactly the best way to run a Mobile, but there it is. The External VGA works, and the internal Panel (on the Mobility HD2x00) sadly does not. At least not without such a framebuffer hack. as seen above, and even then it only IMHO probable at best if even that would work. Basically it all comes down to how the Graphics are wired together, unfortunately Apple likes to "Think Differently"™, and because of that "Difference" it'll be unlikely (or at least it feels that way), that most of the Mobility HD2x00 Series will never fully work on OSX. But, again there sees to have been ~some~ progress made to learn more read that thread. If you ment those with some Toshiba models (the likes of which escape me now), work and that the rest don't, then see above. It seems that Toshiba managed to use a similar process with those models. As I take it neither of us have a Toshi Laptop, so that info is purely academic at this point...

Well as I was implying in my very first Post, what would be the point of a working Video Driver without a working Intel 3945ABG Wi-Fi Driver, which is also missing on OSX (pick your poison). But; This is the basic upshot of the situation... I guess the moral of the story is to get a Laptop with an Intel Proc and a nVidia IGP. Shame they have (or had), a bad press at the time I purchased this Lappy. Seemd that there [nVidia] Chips were burning out only after a few months of usage. Ya know like browsing the Web? That's why I *mistakenly went with Intel / AMD-ATi. Well like I said you could try hacking the Framebuffer (see my first Post), it seemed to work for a few People. But, until there's a fully working Intel 3945ABG Wi-FI Driver that supports WPA2, OSX is in a sense non-existent for me, on the Pi2550... *Mistakenly in as far as wanting to run OSX. I wasn't aware at the time that that ATI had no intentions of supporting there Mobility Series of Cards. "Leaving it in the hands of the OEM's" [in this instance Fu-Si] to support ~it~ themselves. Well I already stated for the record how great Fu-Si's end-user support is. Thankfully there are applications that will convert (or modify), the latest Drivers to work on (or with), the Mobility range of Cards. For a fat lot of good this does with OSX. P.S. If you must absolutely positively have no choice, but to use that Laptop to do your ~Work~. Then your last option would / could, be to use the VGA-Out. As an added bonus IIRC QE and CI was also working, but as I said ~IIRC~ take it with a large pinch of salt, it was well over a Year since I last bothered with OSX on this Laptop. It was at that time I made the unfortunate discovery about the Intel 3945ABG, and that, as they say was that...

I'm not sure just how many Fu-Si Pi255 variants there I know there's a lesser One out there that slower then mine @ 1.6xGhz, then there's the One I have @ 1,86Ghz and I guess it tops out @ 2.40Ghz. In short you mileage might vary. Facts are. 1) Not every Intel (in this case) Core 2 Duo supports Virtualization. 2) Fu-Si DOES NOT support Virtualization even on the higher end PA/XI Series, then it wouldn't matter if your CPU could handle it or not, cause Hardware Virtualization would not (read could never), be activated. I suspect VMware is working under Software mode in Linux, and you are confusing this with Hardware (CPU) Virtualization. Since you have an Intel Chip, I'd suggest checking there Database out to see which ~Features~ are activated (or not). Basically Fu-Si stance on x86-64 with more then 4Gigs of RAM is about the same Plugs it's ears and humms tra la la. Although I think they recently caved in to pressure on that and finally released a fix. Thankfully that was for a different model though. But, the fact remains that Virtual Model in Hardware will NOT work on low / mid-range Amilo Laptops irregardless of whether or not your CPU would actually be capable of it. Like I said for myself personally it's a nonstarter as the CPU in my mid-range Pi2550 (T5550) DOES NOT support Virtual anyway.

Ati Radeon HD 2400 Mobility (ID: 0x94c9)

I wouldn't know, as I don't use VMWare. But, if I had to take a stab at it, I'd say it was 'Cause the T5550 (Core 2 Duo @ 1.86Ghz ~in my Notebook~), does NOT support Virtual Modes. Besides the fact that the Fu-Si (or since late last Year), just plain 'ol Fujitsu Board is full of ticked off users who shelled out bigger bucks for there systems ~targeting~ such Hardware that could / Should have managed CPU based virtual Models, only to find that Fu-Si had neutered it in the BIOS... So perhaps you can find your answer in there...

Did you try anything off of this Thread? http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...t=0&start=0 Secondly, and I fear more importantly have you given any consideration towards the Intel 3945ABG Wi-Fi Card in your (our) System(s). Of what use would a ~working~ Display be to anyone even w/o the QE/CI; Which the above hack wouldn't give you, without a working WiFi Driver to match it up with? Because of this (or that), I have since given up much of my hope of ever getting OSX to work on (or with), this Hardware. Perhaps something ~might~ change, but I've been waiting for over a year now, I've seen others who have waited nearly twice as long to get this working, and a Laptop w/o Wi-Fi is about as useful to me as a Screen of untangible blocks on my Display.... BTW: I too am a disappointed owner of a Fu-Si Pi2550
  6. So in short would this work for other users that DON'T have a Toshi A200? Or is this HOWTO **ONLY** for the Tohsi A200? It's been known for sometime that the internal Displays have been working on ~some~ Toshi's for w while now. AFAIK, Toshi use some other method to connect the "Display" that other OEM's don't. Which is why most People with a Mobility Radeon or in a nutshell SOL.

Are we to believe that these are "Internal" Screen Shots? Or, are these "Screen Shots" from the DVI/VGA??

ATI Mobility RADEON HD 2600 HELP

The Mobility will work just fine with an External Display, with QE and CI (i.e. DVI or VGA out), that's not the problem, and never has been!! The trick is to get it working ~under the "Laptop" Display~, and with the only possible exception of some Toshiba Laptops*, I've never seen / heard of anyone ever getting such ~Drivers~ to work under OSX. I'll admit I'm not sure if it's the way the "Card" is physically connected LVDS instead of DVI or if it really is just a Framebuffer problem, or both. Fact is this has been a problem for such users for over (or getting on), Two Years now! I sincerely doubt that this "Issue" can be fixed outside of ATI or Apple, and neither have reason to do so. *Toshiba has a different connection method then most other OEM's In short unless you have a Toshi you can basically go ahead and give up now.

ATI Mobility RADEON HD 2600 HELP

Umm if you haven't trolled the Board enough yet to find the "Answer" that you are looking for. then... You're still outaluck along with the rest of us. It would seem that that the Mobility uses some non-compatible Framebuffer or connector (i.e. LVDS) Because of this, it IS HIGHLY UNLIKELY that such Cards will ever be supported!!
  10. I'm not sure if I stroked anyone the wrong way here. If I had I do apologize for it. My ~criticism~ lies only with the moderation of this thread and not with any Developer. Although a working Intel 3945ABG Driver would go down well, it's not like I could do anything w/o some Radeon Mobility Drivers as well. That said if this "Thread" is ~strictly~ for the IWIDarwin Branch then, ok. But, why couldn't the Staff hve just started a new thread for Project C., and just dump the incorrect "Posts" there? I share the similar idea that this is an "Intel Wireless 2100, 2200BG, 2915BG, 3945ABG, 4965AGN" Thread, and fail to see any subtlety between these "Two" Forks, as long as One of them eventually leads us to a working Driver. Myself I could care less which version wraps up first, and the "P!ssing Contest", maybe a misguided perception granted, but do you really expect someone to trawl though 170+ Pages to see otherwise, when the most relevant stuff is on Page 168 onwards? As an outsider looking in I'd say that was exactly what it was, because that's the perception the Mod Staff were giving me, by posting threats of temp bans for anyone who'd dare mention Project C. by name. How else is One supposed to view this then? I've witnessed this Thread now on several occasions getting needlessly pruned back to Page 168, because someone dared to utter a URL to another Project, that by all regards seems to be in a more advanced state then the other. Now I'm sorry but, that could have, and for the good of the community at large, that should have been handed better. Otherwise to someone outside looking in this smacks of Censorship. In closing, with this thread at now over 170+ Pages (Again), perhaps it is time to close it and start up a revised Intel Wireless 2100, 2200BG, 2915BG, 3945ABG, 4965AGN that is either strictly IWIDarwin and Project C., and make such Threads as clear as posible so that there is to be no confusion. Or trust that the Readership here is smart enough to know that there are Two Branches in Progress. I mean your average Windows Luser wouldn't bother with a Site like this, and I suspect that most People here could handle it well enough. I mean that seems to be the case in this Thread, as long as the Mod Staff would just leave it well enough alone, that is. That's all I ever meant to say
  11. Great here goes another couple of decent Posts because of some Overzealous Mods with this Guy (Project C.) While I respect each Boards right to govern themselves however they see fit. (e.g. HAVING READ THE RULES!) But I have to ask, whats with all this ~animosity~ towards Project C., and why cant you just MOVE these "offending" Posts to a ~new Thread~ that's dedicated to that end instead of just nuking every and all offending posts that spring up? I think I can safely say that what most People come here and check this Thread out ~daily~ is to find out that if (or when), our Wi-Fi Cards (Intel Wireless 2100, 2200bg, 2915bg, 3945abg, 4965agn), will ever work on Hackentosh! Given the ~Grayness~ of such an endeavor (your certainly breaking the EULA in any case!), I for One could care less who does what as the ends will always justify the means! The end being a working Driver for the above! Am I not right in thinking this? Or is this really a P!ssing contest between these Two Developers? Really I think it's time for a review of the Moderation Practices of this Site. P.s. I can't say I'm sure about this, but IIRC I seem to recall the problem beeing that the Pro. C Guy want's to sell his Driver. Ok like that's gonna happen on the Internet. (See the BT Images of OSX-86 for reference). But, assuming for lets say 20 Seconds, that ~THIS~ was the problem. What are we all 8Yo or something? If this Guy thinks he can scrape a few Bucks off his work I say good on him, and let the Buyer beware!

Well I'm sorry to hear that, personally I'd could learn to live w/1024x768 as all I'd want to do is use the Audio Book Chapter Tool for iTunes. But because I'm also stuck with this crappy WiFi Card and thus have no Internet. With no end in site of that (same story w/the HD2400XT!!). So IMHO the lack of an Internet connection kinda kills the effort for me.

    2400 XT Mobility (Acer 5620)

In short ATI Mobilities are NOT SUPPORTED!! You can try pressing whatever to halt the Darwin Bootloader and then with (IIRC) "-x" to boot into Safemode. Deleate any ~and every~ ATI* File from (again IIRC!) /system/library/extensions then reboot. w/luck you should have a clean 1024x768 Desktop w/no CI or QE. Big help that was for me and my Mobility addled Amilo Pi 2550 (also a HD2400XT), also came w/an Intel 3945ABG Wi-Fi Chip. So no fecken Internet either. So it looks like I'm stuck w/either Vista or some form of Linux for now. Upshot do your homework b4 purchasing your next Laptop...

You're not the only One w/that problem. In short you can move on, the Radeon "Mobility" HD2400 is NOT CURRENTLY supported under OSX or Hackntosh. For reference I'm on a Fujitsu-Seimens Amilo Pi-2550 w/said Radeon Mobility HD2400 (DevID: 94C9)
