MacTamer
Hi guys, I am almost there. I have Leopard running almost perfectly. I just need sound, (USB headset is fine) and i need to fix screen tearing (it's really not that bad), and a few other minor bugs. Anyway the main reason I'm here is because i need to get Vista back on my Pc but i don't get a Darwin prompt. I'm afraid to put Vista back on because i may not be able to get into OS X again. My Darwin prompt stopped appearing when i installed the 10.5.2 Kalyway Combo updater. I either need to get Darwin working or i need to know how to chain0 in Vista. Normally i would be able to do it, but i can't find a guide for if Leopard was installed first and i don't want to loose the past 5 days of work. I have been working on this almost non-stop (around school) for the past 4 weeks and don't want to risk breaking my install. The reason Vista wasn't put on first is because i had to Zero the HDD to get Leopard on it. For some reason it just wouldn't take. If you guys could direct me to a guide or tell me how to do this i would appreciate it greatly. My HDD is already partitioned. All i need to do is put Vista on. Thanks, MacTamer Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96453-almost-there/ Share on other sites
iwantsound44
im not sure i always made two partitions then installed vista on the second partition then installed leopard...now after i installed leopard nothing would come up but hfs+ partition error....so i searched on google hfs+partition error and found a guide on how to use darwin as my bootloader for vista and mac i had to click boot of disk the type "-s" and then i had to stype some things in .....then vista loaded but i got an error soyou need to put the vista disk in and hit repair and restart and you should have darwin as your default bootloader for mac and vista..yeaaaaaa Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96453-almost-there/#findComment-688692 Share on other sites

teknojunkie
reinstall darwin boot loader here on the forums then make the partition that you want to install vista on active. Install it and you are dual booting. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/96453-almost-there/#findComment-693976 Share on other sites
