RamO
hey, i have the same laptop, how did you upgrade from 10.5.1 to 10.5.2??(EFI or MBR? vanilla or hacked kernel??) and how much of the sound did you get working: the headphones jack doesnt work for instance. And yes the WIFI is a pain in the ass. All together a good laptop Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95448-the-compaq-presario-c571nr-c500-review/#findComment-680855 Share on other sites
applehacker
hey fellow hacker! headphones worked by default for some reason, but here is what I used to upgrade to 10.5.2! Download the Combo update from apple. get into terminal under root user (sudo su) DO THIS BEFORE RUNNING INSTALLER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! paste this script into terminal: while sleep 1 ; do rm -rf /System/Library/Extensions/AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext ; done after installation, do not reboot yet. in terminal, press ctrl+x (or c? try both) paste this into terminal after: sudo nano /System/InstallAtStartup/scripts/1 Change this (look for it, scroll just a little down): /System/Library/Extensions/Dont Steal Mac OS X.kext into: /System/Library/Extensions/dsmos.kext repair permissions and reboot should be okay. If not, try to go back under safe boot (-x) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95448-the-compaq-presario-c571nr-c500-review/#findComment-681551 Share on other sites
