I wish I could get it to work so I can use my external USB drive to work. I tired of having to burn CD/DVD's to transfer files from XP to OSX. eil
IIRC, Intel chipsets use UHCI for USB, thus OHCI probably wasn't a high priority for Apple when preparing the development kits. (Do PPC Macs use UHCI or OHCI?) You could try plain Darwin to see if USB works there. If not, then you're probably out of luck until someone fixes the driver. Macintel1
My computer was running slowly, with a choppy dock and choppy minimization. I used kextunload to unload the driver /System/Library/Extensions/IOUSBFamily.kext/AppleUSBOHCI.kext. Suddenly, my problems are solved; osx runs 3 times faster, and the graphics are smooth as silk. ANYBODY WHOSE COMPUTER IS RUNNING SLOWLY SHOULD TRY THIS TIP!
