xtraa
Hi, each time I'm on a https site, Safari tells me that it cannot open the page, because it was unable to establish a secure connection to the server. Thats not good. If this is a common issue, many sites would be unable to browse, like web mails, online shops etc. Do you get this error, too? domino
please give an example link of one so I can reproduce. Because this maybe the same issue I am having with Apple Mail not being able to access SSL POP servers like gmail. I'm not really sure yet. domino
Yups.. Problem with Safari and Apple Mail with sercure servers. here's the message with Apple Mail and gmail: Mail was unable to verify the identity of this server, which has a certificate issued to "pop.gmail.com". The error was: An SSL error occurred while trying to read data from the server "pop.gmail.com". Verify that this server supports SSL and that your account settings are correct. You might be connecting to a computer that is pretending to be "pop.gmail.com", and putting your confidential information at risk. Would you like to continue anyway? domino
i fixed perms while in 10.4.3, right after booting into 10.4.4,and just now. Still the same problem with both Safari and Mail. Firefox and Thunderbird don't have a problem with SSL. xtraa, did you by any chance happen to run DeLocalizer or TrimTheFat? mark7714
I had the same problem and was able to fix it. Basically a file is missing (/System/Library/Keycahins/X509Anchors). I was able to correct the problem by copying it over from my 10.4.3 install. If you want to come to this conclusion yourself, here is how: Go to Applications -> Utilities -> Keychain Access Click on the Keycahin Access menu, and load Keychain First Aid Enter your password and then verify It will tell you that X509Anchors is missing. If you try to repair it (an option the program offers) it will fail, and tell you to reinstall or get it from somewhere else. So that's what I did, I just grabbed it from 10.4.3. Hope that helps! xtraa
Yes, thanks from me, too! Works perfectly I copied the two files x509Anchors AND X509Certificates in the root of the /keychains/ folder and repaired permissions. And also repaired the Keychain Very good fix. I think now we are almost done with fixing 10.4.4. It seems that there are no other issues left. (Well but I think there maybe are some left, that we will be stumbling upon sooner or later) Anyway, great fix. Some are experiencing problems with iTunes Prefs (AMD) and i'm experiencing problem with QT, right click properties on some movies. Lot's of scattered minor quirks. Think we need a "Waht's wrong with your 10.4.4 Install" thread?
