Anon2012x
Hi I'm new to this forum and really like it here. I have been a Windows User since the beginning, however I want to learn to use OSX. My computer is the following: -HP Media Center M8330F -AMD 64 Quad-Core Phenom 9500 -8500 GT nVida -640 HD SATA (320x2) -3Gb RAM -DVD+RW SATA http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16883107514 It had Vista H. Pre. and dual boot with XP (primary OS) I have tried iAtkos to try boot into Leopard. But when I do I only see the Apple Logo and the loading sign, after about a Minutes I see a small error sign on the Apple Logo. It's the circle with the slash sign. I even left it like that for 1hr and nothing changed, however the loading still moved. I patched it right, because I followed the tut on OSX86Project. Can someone tell me if my computer works with this , or if I'm using the wrong method? Which one should I use. Thank You in advance if anyone answes Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95041-will-my-computer-work-with-105/ Share on other sites
grimlock838
Have you tried Kalyway Leo 10.5? Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95041-will-my-computer-work-with-105/#findComment-677586 Share on other sites
xx66stangxx
I am not sure if the quad core cpu's are supported or not. when you boot from the dvd type in -v and see if it says "waiting for root device" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95041-will-my-computer-work-with-105/#findComment-677591 Share on other sites
Anon2012x
grimlock: No sorry haven't tried it. Is it better than iAtkos or Zephyroths? xx66stangxx: Yes I tried that, and it said "waiting for root device" and left it untouched for about an hr or so and it had about 8rows of "waiting for root device" Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95041-will-my-computer-work-with-105/#findComment-677603 Share on other sites

Skyper
You can find it on the bay of pirates, no patching needed. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95041-will-my-computer-work-with-105/#findComment-678305 Share on other sites
Anon2012x
You can find it on the bay of pirates, no patching needed. Yes I found it, though is there a tut on how to install it? Or is it a installation similar to Linux? Because I see different tuts but is there a "official" one or something similar? Anon2012x
before you try to install it tell use your chipset to see if its supported or not It's NVIDIA's nForce 430 chipset Could it be because it's a Quad or because I have a Twin 320GB 7,200 RPM SATA hard drives (640HD) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/95041-will-my-computer-work-with-105/#findComment-678432 Share on other sites
xx66stangxx
it's not your hdd's and like I said before the quad core might not be supported go to: osx.kbot.de that is Zephyroth's forum for 10.5.2 and ask if quad core is supported. Also the "waiting for root device" can be caused by your hardware configuration. Make sure you have your dvd drive set as slave and your hdd as master or it could also mean that your hardware isn't supported. anarchy_1024
It's NVIDIA's nForce 430 chipset Chipset: GeForce 6150SE nForce 430 Motherboard: ASUS M2N68-LA Audio: ALC 888S chipset Could it be because it's a Quad or because I have a Twin 320GB 7,200 RPM SATA hard drives (640HD) Well, you can try booting with the cpus=1 switch (well, I think that was the switch). But I think the main issue will be the chipset, not necessarily the CPU. As a side note, I tried installing OS X on an HP s3300f, which has the same chipset as you: GeForce 6150SE nForce 430. I was not able to get it to boot using: Kalyway 10.5.1, Leo4All 10.5.2, ToH 10.5, BrazilMac 10.5 (I believe those are the releases I tried). I was either not able to get it to boot the installation program, or not able to install it; the main problem seems to the hard drive controller. Unfortunately, the s3300f has no setting to change the hard drive controller operation mode. If you have the option, you can try changing the hard drive controller from AHCI (Native) to ATA (Legacy, Compatibility). If you have two hard drive, you probably have a RAID option, too, which I doubt will work with OS X. EDIT: Changing the SATA controller operation mode may help because you have a SATA DVDRW. Using ATA (Legacy, Compatibility) mode may help, since it will be putting both, the hard drive and the optical drive, in compatibility mode. Anon2012x
Well I now used the Zephyroth Version, both 10.5.1 and 10.5.2 Rev 2 and everytime when I boot up I get this "Darwin/x86 boot v5.0.132 3076MB memory VESA v3.0 14MB (NVIDIA) Loading Darwin/x86 EFI enhanced bootloader build: ToH Using SMBIOS table found at 0x000f13e0" I have no idea what that means, what am I doing wrong. I burned it with Nero, Roxio, Sonic, imgburn, and PowerISO; using DVD+R and DVD-R. What am I doing wrong.
