S3 is marketing this card towards the uses of an HTPC, which includes dvd playblack, Blu Ray playback, High Def playback, even HDDVD playback. In 3d Mark 06 the 430 GT has scored better than both the 3840 from ATI, and the 8400 from Nvidia, but that won't effect the playback of videos on your machine. The 430 GT will cost only $59, and so far only available online.
