In most cases no!

sticking with native sata saves u from a lot of trouble

thnx.. :(

will any sata rom work...???or is there a problem such that a 20x writer will not work..or a lightscribe writer wont work..???i am just confirming...sorry if u think its a stupid question..

Alright, this fix SHOULD WORK FOR MOST OF YOU. After you have installed OS X and you reboot, make sure you are booting to your hard drive and not the install disc. Then, press F8 multiple times after you get past your pc's bios screen. You SHOULD be at a screen that asks you to select which partition you want to boot from. There will be two options, the first drive will be without a name, and the second drive should be named whatever you named it when installing (BTW make sure when you install that the partition's name has NO SPACES in it) select the drive that you made during the installation and press enter. Hope this helps!
