Boot Camp
Anyone could make a Hacintosh better than a Mac Pro for much less $, but is it worth it? Mac Pro? Or Hack Pro? gabe_
I recently asked myself the same question, and ultimately determined that the answer depends on the person and their needs. For the power-user-hobbyist, I would say it's absolutely worth it. For my mom? No way. Would I trust one in a production enviornment? Nope. You won't see me rolling one out at work any time soon - Even if the legal issues were not a concern. nate256
i agree for me, Of course cause i love figuring out how to make it work, I use it for Video Production all the time! hasn't failed me Yet! My friend asked if i would build him one, and i said no cause he isn't the smartest with computers and if something would go wrong it would be a head ache for me! But i def. suggest it over a Mac Pro if the price is what you are worrying about, but if you have the money and wanna spend it...go for the mac pro Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/92148-workstation-hack-pro-or-mac-pro/#findComment-660807 Share on other sites
vbetts
If you're gonna get a basic mac Pro, then other than the reasons of being legal, and the apple logo on your side, I would build just a quad core workstation based off either the Q9300, or Q6600.
