lateralusman
I Fixed the still waiting for root device by installing a IDE dvd burner. I Fixed when I got to the installer choose language screen my mouse and keyboard didn't work by disabling USB in BIOS and using a PS/2 mouse and keyboard. I've just gotten though the OSX install using the Mac OSX 10.5.1 AMD SSE2 SSE3 32bits iso. I've already got Vista installed. and to dual boot so I. I went though the OSX install when it was done I clicked restart, booted vista used EasyBCD to add OSX to the boot loader, restarted got a kernel panic mode: booted with -x now I'm at this screen and it tells me to connect your keyboard. ~pcwiz
First of all, enable USB and PS/2 in BIOS. Disabling doesn't help. Try using a USB keyboard and mouse (both USB) or a PS/2 keyboard and mouse (both PS/2). Make sure you have both PS/2 and USB all options enabled in BIOS, thats critical. lateralusman
Nope same thing I made sure USB was enabled and theres no way to disable PS/2 on my mobo. So yeah I tried PS/2 keyboard and mouse then tried USB keyboard and mouse. I'll try my USB to PS/2 converters next... razvu
Hi! I had exactly the same problem after installing from the original disc. I posted a question, no reply so far, so I went to Circuit City and got a Kensington USB wireless keyboard and mouse, and it worked. It will ask you to press 2 keys first. I also enabled USB and PS2 in BIOS before that. Good luck! lateralusman
Thanks so much for the links and info! I see the wikipage has a solution for the Kernel Panic Issue as well. I have already started downloading Leopard-10 5 2-AMD-EFI so I'm half way there! lateralusman
From osx86.wikidot.com: PS2 Mouse & Keyboard issue after installing Leopard , boot again from the install dvd and after choosing your language, choose "terminal" from the menu bar: then enter this command: cp -Rf /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext /Volumes/leopard//System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext NOTE: replace /Volumes/leopard according to the name you gave at your Leo partition I enter it into the terminal exactly like this: cp -Rf /System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext /Volumes/MacOSX//System/Library/Extensions/ApplePS2Controller.kext Replaced /Volumes/leopard with /Volumes/MacOSX as Mac OSX is the partition name. I get this: Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90812-osx-installed-kindakeyboard-does-not-work/#findComment-650442 Share on other sites

lateralusman
what image are you using now? 10.5.2 or 10.5.1? in the 10.5.2 this command doesn't work anymore. I'm still using 10.5.1, I figured I would try and get it working since I already have it installed. Still downloading 10.5.2.... I forgot to mention I have Vista on my 250gb SATA drive and OSX on my 80gb IDE drive.**** Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/90812-osx-installed-kindakeyboard-does-not-work/#findComment-651850 Share on other sites
