cw-data
Is there yet any process getting headphone jack working? Without I cannot live...
cw-data
Hi it's me again... Some weird thought I had because of reading specs of the Intel HDA on Intel's website about automatically detecting the type of plugged in device and automatic switching, if a microphone is plugged in headphone jack and vice versa: Can someone with an AD1981HD test, what happens, if you plug in you external speakers in the microphone jack of the laptop instead of headphone jack? Can't try myself at the moment, because I haven't installed OS X on this machine... EDIT: Just could try, doesn't work...

WhyMe
Everything sort of works with VoodooHDA driver... What do you mean? Headphone jack also? Unfortunately I have neither BT in my laptop nor USB headphones so I'm bound to built-in speakers. That sucks a lot :/

drougnor
VooDooHDA doesn't work with this Sound driver ( AD 1981 ) in HP notebooks.. This is the only solution which works for sound in my HP notebook.. but not Headphone out .. any progress with the headphones sound anyone..!! Voodoo HDA DOES work on the AD1981 system in HP Notebooks. Make sure that you rename AppleHDA.kext and AppleAzaliaAudio.kext if they are on your system. Then install the voodoohda.kext from the site. I've been using VoodooHDA for 3 + weeks, and have had nothing but wonderful sound usage from it. d

drougnor
have u guys any good news for me about intel 4965 wireless adapter ? Only that they are easy to remove and replace with a different card. http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/part.as...vicetype=Laptop The HP part number to look for if you need to find another online store is 441075-002 That's the one I ordered to replace my Intel 3965 for my HP 6710b. Works perfectly.

drougnor
Doesn't any USB wireless work instead ( netgear )? I am located in Nepal ( south asia ) and i dont think they ship to my country Not just any usb, but if you hit up the networking side of the forum, with some digging, you can find a list. I'd try searching by that part number and see if there are any bites on stores that will ship to you. It's worth it to have an actual installed card . . . I'm known to forget to pay attention to dongles and scrape them against things. d

If you go to HP's site and dig around for your model of laptop, you should find it listed as an accepted part. I can't remember exactly where to locate it, but just dig around and you'll see it. I was led to do the search by the fine folks on this site in the LAN and Wireless subforum talking about how well the Broadcom chips work. The card itself should only take a few minutes to swap out, depending on how your laptop was designed. I only had to remove one cover, and then two screws to do the swap. d
