I suspect that perhaps since we are using VESA drivers for the Graphics that perhaps the mouse's small shadow isn't showing, but I kind of liked it. I got used to it in Linux, then Windows XP.. Kind of miss it

It actually depends on the video card hardware.

I have some Mac's that do not display this shadow and some that do.

 

Both of them run the same version of the operating system.

Hm, I didn't notice that until you mentioned it. True. It's missing.

my G3 iMac doesn't show the shadow either.

 

i think it's a QE feature.

go to your dashboard and add another widget

 

on a regular G4 you will get a 'wave' effect on the screen when its dropped in place

 

i dont get it on the intel

 

this is due to QE and the lack of nvidia/ati drivers-- most likely
