Wayfarer247
Meh, I dunno, I have never been able to shut down my laptop effectively, before or after I installed my Graphics driver. I think someone posted a solution which disabled one of the CPU's before shutdown. peach-os
another hint for a possible solution: did a clean install and never had any problems with shutdown. after a succesful update to 10.5.2 and gfx strings still everything was perfect. the last step was that I wanted to get rid off the orange icons and installed the extensions that I coulf find in the forum. after that no shutdown! so I first installed back the original IOAHCIfamily.kext - still no shutdown. after that installed again the AppleAHCIport.kext - shutdown working again! since adding the strings for my 7600gt I have (almost) working sleep with dual display - only issue: after waking up from sleep everything works except proper shutdown! hope that helps Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/89743-leopard-shutdown-problem/#findComment-649473 Share on other sites

peach-os
her are the kexts http://www.mediafire.com/?jnxmdc1apce although I´m not sure that this is the solution. It might help if you did replace this kexts or the releases you used had some patches. with gfx strings I meant the graphics strings for my 7300gt. remember that you will get back the orange icons!
